IMPORTANT DATESOkanagan College Calendar 2022-23Fee Payment DeadlinesSemester Schedules, Program Startand End Dates and Campus ClosuresVisit www.okanagan.bc.ca/datesApplication and Admissions Dates For programs with courses that start at the beginningof a semester, your account must be paid in full by thefee payment deadline below. If you add or changecourses after the fee payment deadline resulting inadditional charges to your account, you are requiredto pay all fees at the time of registration.In general, full fees are due three weeks beforeclasses begin.Some programs have specific dates ordeadlines by which applications must bereceived (Nursing, Dental and Business).You must submit your application by the dateindicated to ensure that you are consideredfor the first round of admission offers. Forapplications received after that date, offers ofadmission will only be issued if space isavailable.On the first business day in October eachyear Okanagan College begins acceptingapplications for academic programs (Arts,Science, Engineering Technologies,Computer Information Systems) for thefollowing fall.Many other programs also begin acceptingapplications on the first business day inOctober for all intakes throughout thesubsequent 10 months (Entry-Level TradesFoundation programs, Health programs otherthan those listed above.)You may apply online starting the firstbusiness day in October for ContinuingStudies certificate programs.Most programs accept applications up to the programstart. Some programs have multiple start datesthroughout the year.All applicants are urged to apply as early as possible.Response TimeOkanagan College will strive to respond to yourapplication within 2 - 3 business days. However,during busy times of the year, please allow for upto 10 business days for a response.For programs with courses that start at the beginningof a semester, your account must be paid in full by thefee payment deadline. ADMISSIONSOkanagan College Calendar 2022-23TranscriptsEarly application for all programs is strongly advised.Okanagan College may cease to accept applicationsfor a given intake or program if the number ofapplications submitted greatly exceeds enrolmentcapacity. Notice of these program closures will beposted on the Okanagan College website.Okanagan College is a multi-campus institution, andmany programs are offered at more than one campus.However, not all programs are offered at allcampuses.How to ApplyUse the online application form atwww.okanagan.bc.ca/apply. If you are unable tosubmit an application online, Okanagan College willaccept paper applications with the 30 non-refundableapplication fee. You can apply for up to two programsper application session for your 30 application fee( 100 for International applicants.)While online submission of your application greatlyspeeds the processing of the application, how yousubmit your application is not a factor in determiningyour admissibility.You may visit any of the campuses or regional centresof Okanagan College to submit your application.Assistance is available to help you use the onlineapplication process.A returning student will not be assessed anapplication fee provided the student is continuing inthe same program and has not missed more thanone semester (summer session is excluded). If youare admitted to more than one program, you will berequired to accept only one offer of admission.Failure to list and provide transcripts from allinstitutions you attended on your application may beconsidered an intentional omission and will lead to thecancellation of your application for admission orwithdrawal of your offer of admission.When to ApplyPlease see Important Dates.12As an applicant, you must ensure that official sealedtranscripts are submitted for all institutions attendedother than Okanagan College. Transcripts must havebeen issued within the previous six months. Currentand past Okanagan College students and OkanaganUniversity College students are not required to submitOkanagan College or Okanagan University Collegetranscripts.Applicants submitting post-secondary transcripts fromwithin Canada but outside B.C. will be required tosubmit a 50 transcript evaluation fee per transcript.The evaluation fee for International transcripts is 150per transcript. (This fee is in addition to the applicationfee.)Failure to list and provide transcripts from allinstitutions you attended on your application may beconsidered an intentional omission and will lead to thecancellation of your application for admission orwithdrawal of your offer of admission.ApplicantsApplicants must satisfy all general and programspecific admission requirements.Regular Applicants: Regular applicants havesecondary graduation (or equivalent) or are currentlyenrolled in Grade 12.Mature Applicants: Mature applicants are at least 19years of age and have been out of full-time secondaryschool for at least one year prior to commencement intheir program. Grade 12 graduation is not required(unless specified), but the applicant must satisfy allgeneral and program-specific admissionrequirements.Transfer Student: The applicant is currentlyattending or has most recently attended anotheraccredited post-secondary institution in a transferableprogram. The applicant must satisfy all general andprogram-specific admission requirements.Unclassified Student: Courses completed as anUnclassified Student are not intended to lead to aparticular degree or diploma. No transfer credit will beawarded by Okanagan College. Enrolment in coursesis subject to availability of space, completion ofprerequisites or faculty permission. Departmentpermission is required for students enrolling in300/400 level courses. Okanagan College Calendar 2022-23Visiting Student: A Visiting Student at OkanaganCollege is a student who is currently undertaking aprogram of degree completion at another accreditedpost-secondary institution. No transfer credit will beawarded by Okanagan College. Students areadmitted based on a Letter of Permission from thehome institution and are permitted to register inspecific Okanagan College courses as listed in theLetter of Permission.The Letter of Permission must state the session andyear for which it is valid and is valid for one academicyear only. If subsequent sessions are required, a newLetter of Permission must be submitted. Registrationin courses is subject to availability of space, approvalfrom the home institution, and proof of satisfying allcourse prerequisites.General Admission Requirements All ApplicantsDocument RequirementsApplicants are required to submit the followingdocuments with their applications:Provincial Education Number (PEN): All applicantswho are currently enrolled in or have completedGrade 12 in British Columbia or Yukon must submittheir nine-digit provincial education number.Transcript: Official (i.e. sealed and unopened)transcripts must be submitted for all secondary andpost-secondary schools. These transcripts must havebeen issued within the past six months.Applicants from outside Canada, or whose documentsare not in English: see our International Studentinformation.Transcripts and other documents submitted becomethe property of Okanagan College and will be returnedto the student only upon written request.
