Rebecca Sweeney hasbeen with us for several years now. Shebrings a wealth of knowledge and scienceto our days.Carrie Blake joined us once again at theLiving Memorial Park. We always have agreat time creating and enjoying ourtheatrics on the stage.Jane May Jones sets the programming upand leads the camps with the help of thesewonderful people.OTHER PROGRAMSOther offerings availableEvery year we give scholarships! women’s retreats creative retreatsIt is our goal to have as many scholarshipsas possible. We raise funds year round toenable children from families in need tocome to our camps. November, 2019FISHING WITH THEWIZARDGetting children ‘hooked’ on fishing!A couple of years ago we introduced thisprogram. The Wizard, aka Donald Jones, is anavid fisherman. He fishes the local waters herein Southern Vermont from his bass boat everysummer.He is passionate about teachingchildren the art of fishing and catch andrelease.During the summer months we offer up- to 5mornings of fishing on Lake Sadawga. This is asmall body of water with a great fishery. Iteven has a floating island. Many use this as akayaking lake. So beautiful and peaceful.These mornings of fishing are all about learningthe equipment, how to cast and above all howto catch and release. We have repeat childrenwho have been coming for 3 years now. Everytime they come they catch at least 20 fish inthe morning. Wewill do all the fun things that we do with thechildren, we will be out of doors all dayenjoying nature and the company of otherindividuals looking for their long lostplayfulness.We will journal (writing and drawing), paint,look for micro-organisms in the rivers,identify the most beautiful mushrooms andfungus, up-cycle, make pencils, prep anddecorate walking sticks and so much morefun stuff! OH, did I mention the walking,hiking and great camaraderie?
