C65 Trident Vintage Mk IIDistinguishable for its 1960s charms, the C65 Trident Collection hasblossomed into one of the most popular tranches of the ChristopherWard catalogue. A range that blends dive watch looks with dressierelements, its history can be traced back to 2016’s C65 TridentVintage. It’s telling that in this new edition, the C65 Trident VintageMk II, many of its predecessor’s strongest attributes are preservedintact; yet some three years later, we felt there was some roomfor improvement. The most prominent introduction in the Mk II is that of CW’s signatureC65 case design. Its distinctive, fluid form marks a departure fromthe straight-sided case of the original C65: ‘light-catcher’ lines risefrom its lugs to a central ‘waist’ section, with brushed and polishedsurfaces emphasising its sleek and graceful contours. Measuring inat 38mm and just 11.5mm high, the Vintage Mk II’s case is a beautifultechnical achievement; and even with a 150m water resistance, it canstill be worn discreetly under a cuff. While a glass box crystal may signpost the Vintage Mk II’s retrocredentials, the inclusion of baton-shaped hands filled with OldRadium Super-LumiNova and rectangular indexes accentuate thisaesthetic further. The twin flag logo, symbolic of Christopher Ward’sAnglo-Swiss heritage, has been debossed at 12 o’clock, while oureponymous trident appears on the seconds hand’s counter-balance.As versatile as it is stylish, the C65 Trident Vintage Mk II is a watchfor wrists of all sizes. It’ll impress just about anywhere.3

How to operate your C65 Trident Vintage Mk IIWater resistance12Although your watch has been through vigorous static pressuretesting, it is worth remembering that there are many variables thatcan affect the water resistance of your watch. For instance, armmovements during swimming and the sudden impact of divingand water sports will drastically increase the pressure the watchis under.Wearing your watch in the bath, shower, or sauna can also havean effect as a rapid increase in temperature can cause seals toexpand and in extreme cases, malfunction or create condensation. For these reasons, the water resistance rating of your watch(as shown) should only ever be considered a guideline and westrongly recommend they are always adhered to.
