I also competed in forensics duringmy four years at Bloomsburg University, and now here I am as the Director ofForensics at Bloomsburg University and the Executive Director of PHSSL.I want to congratulate each of you for your participation in this worthwhile academicco-curricular activity. I credit my experience in forensics for much of my academicand professional success. I know countless others who have advanced in their careersprecisely because of the numerous skills learned from forensics competition, mostnotably the ability to think critically, to organize one’s ideas, and to communicateeffectively with others. GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATIONCALL AHEAD REGISTRATIONStarting at 8am on Friday March 15th, 2019 you can call the following phonenumber to register for the tournament. Once you arrive on campus, be sure tostop by HAAS to pick up your materials.570-389-2020JUDGINGAll judging will be done via online balloting. Judging assignments will beblasted out 20 minutes before a round is schedule to begin.All high school coaches/judges must be available for judging the entiretournament. When judges r eceived their assignments they need to moveimmediately to the assigned room, enter, and push the start button when theyare ready to begin the round. At the conclusion of the round, judges need tosubmit and confirm their ballots as soon as possible. Judges can add comments after they submit their ballots, but they will not be able to change theirranks. Judges are reminded that comments in the “RFD” section are seen byall the contestants, but comments to the individual competitors are visibleonly to that competitor and his/her coach.For judges that do not have laptops or tablets, please use your mobile devicesto enter the ranks. There are several computer labs that will be open duringthe tournament for judges use. Students are also welcome to use the Schweiker Room in the Andruss Library,which is where the student store and concession stand will be.SMOKINGSmoking is prohibited in all buildings on the Bloomsburg University campus.Universitypolicy prohibits anyone from smoking within 10 feet of building6doors and windows.

No on campus dining facilities will beopen during the event except during the Friday night buffet and Saturdaybrunch in Scranton Commons. Those tickets were to be purchased in advance.PHSSL BUFFETThe buffet is on Friday night between 6 p.m.-9 p.m. in the Scranton Commons on the upper floor. Lunch on Saturday will be held in Scranton Commons on the upper floor between 12pm-3pm. Tickets were to be purchased inadvance for both meal periods and picked up at registration. If you did notpick them up during registration, they will be located in the TABROOM. Upon presentation of your tickets, you will be allowed one entry into the diningroom. Cash will NOT be accepted in the dining hall during the buffet/brunchhours.LOST & FOUNDA lost and found center will be located in the Tabulation Room,McCormick 1148 (Extension 4236 after 3 p.m. on Friday). If you lose or findanything, please report it to this room.FORFEITURE OF ROUNDIf a participant is 15 minutes late for a scheduled round, that student mayNOT participate in that round. This applies to ALL events.AWARDSNo decisions will be announced prior to the awards ceremony at 3:00 p.m. onSaturday in the Mitrani Hall Auditorium at the Haas Center for the Arts.Plaques and certificates will be presented to speakers and schools as listed inthe PHSSL Bylaws.COACHES/JUDGES HOSPITALITY ROOMThe coaches/judges hospitality room is located in the Student Services CenterAll coaches and judges are invited to make full use of this room.
