SKYHAWK FIELDHOUSESince 1969, the University ofTennessee at Martin volleyball teamhas called the Skyhawk Fieldhouseits home. With a capacity of 3,000,Skyhawk Fieldhouse is also home tothe volleyball team’s locker room,coaches’ suite, athletic trainingfacilities and sports informationoffices.The Fieldhouse underwent a faceliftin the summer of 2011, as a large“Skyhawk Volleyball” screenprintwas placed on the west wall. A totalof 115 temporary plastic seats werealso installed in the south bleachers,behind the bench areas. To provide anintimidating environment, large life-sized prints of each current Skyhawk player surround the walls, a tradition whichbegan during the 2009 season.Before construction of the neighboring Kathleen and Tom Elam Center in 1976, Skyhawk Fieldhouse was also home tothe UT Martin men’s and women’s basketball teams. Now Skyhawk Fieldhouse is also home to many of the university’slargest and most well known events that surround homecoming and Greek Week. The UT Martin volleyball team hostedthe First State Skyhawk Invitational for two straight seasons (2011-12), which consisted of four teams playing in a two-daytournament.The volleyball program has enjoyed success at Skyhawk Fieldhouse,sporting a 121-125 all-time record. UT Martin hosted the 2002 OhioValley Conference Tournament at Skyhawk Fieldhouse and claimedits first tournament championship and automatic bid to the NCAAtournament, with a title match 3-0 win over Southeast MissouriState. ASSISTANT COACH JULIA NOEJulia Noe has been a member of The University of Tennessee at Martin coaching staff underhead coach Darrin McClure since 2011. Noe was previously a volunteer assistant at WesternKentucky and an assistant coach of the prestigious Kentucky Indiana Volleyball Academy(KIVA) 18 Red club team based out of Louisville, Ky.Primarily working with the setters at UT Martin, Noe has coached the only two Skyhawksto compile a triple-double in a match, as Jenna Miller (10 kills, 42 assists, 18 digs againstJacksonville State on Oct. 10, 2011) and Amanda Crask (15 kills, 40 assists, 17 digs against SIUEdwardsville on Nov. 14, 2012) both recorded the feat.Last season, Noe helped guide Crask to an All-OVC Newcomer selection. As a freshman,Crask led the Skyhawks in matches started (30), assists (884, 8.42 per set) and attack percentage(.215) while adding 158 kills, 23 service aces, 218 digs and 34 blocks. Crask registered 10double-doubles and handed out at least 30 or more assists on 18 different occasions.Noe’s impact was immediately felt in her first season at UT Martin in 2011. The Skyhawksposted their first winning season since 2006 and made it to the OVC Tournament championshipmatch for the first time since 2002. UT Martin’s 19 overall wins and 12 OVC victories were alsothe most since 2002.Also in 2011, Noe oversaw a squad that ranked second in program history with 1,561 assists. She coached Miller, whograduated with the third-most career assists (3,140) in Skyhawk history.Noe helped the Lady Toppers to a 25-9 record in 2009, while also previously serving as a varsity assistant coach at herhigh school alma mater (Sacred Heart Academy) and co-head coach of the Bravo 18-1 club squad in 2010.As a player, Noe was an integral piece of the Western Kentucky University volleyball team from 2005-08 and establishedherself as one of the greatest setters to ever don the Lady Topper uniform. In her four seasons (2005-08), the Lady Topperscompiled a 110-32 record, including a 52-11 Sun Belt Conference slate. Western Kentucky made three NCAA Tournamentappearances while winning a pair of SBC East championships and SBC tournament titles in Noe’s tenure as a player.Noe’s storied playing career included three all-conference selections (2006-08), a spot on the 2008 All-SBC Tournamentteam and a first-team American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-South Region mention in 2008. That same year,she was also named as an AVCA All-American honorable mention.A Louisville native, Noe received national attention as a junior. She received the Collegiate Volleyball Update (CVU.com) National Player of the Week on Oct. 2, 2007, becoming the first Western Kentucky player to earn a national player ofthe week accolade since 2003. In her record-setting week, she averaged 13.78 assists, 2.56 kills and 2.67 digs per game whilehitting .413 in a pair of SBC victories.During her senior campaign, Noe’s steadiness helped the LadyToppers consistently rank in the top five in the nation in hitting percentage.Noe’s name is found dotted all across the Western Kentucky record book.She is the program’s all-time leader in triple-doubles, amassing six ofthe program’s 16 such performances. She also ranks in the top-5 of threecareer categories: assists (4,369, third); assists per game (9.92, fourth); andhitting percentage (.317, fifth). Her single-game hitting percentage of .800(12 kills, no errors, 15 attempts) against Indiana on Aug. 26, 2007 rankas the second-best performance in Lady Topper history. She is listed sixtimes in the program’s top-10 single-season records in assists, assists pergame, service aces and service aces per game.In addition, Noe accumulated 954 digs, 632 kills, 164 blocks and 127service aces in her collegiate career.At Sacred Heart Academy, Noe was a four-year starter who led theValkyries to the KHSAA state championship in 2003. She racked up allstate, all-district, all-tournament and academic all-state awards whileat SHA and was also a three-time All-American for KIVA, winning twonational championships for the AAU squad.Noe received her bachelor of science in interior design from WesternKentucky in 20102013 Skyhawk Volleyball5

SUPPORT STAFFTamika Donaldson begins her third season at her alma mater as an athletic trainer. A 2009UT Martin graduate, she works primarily with the volleyball and men’s basketball teamswhile also assisting in all sports.Donaldson joined the Skyhawks after spending two seasons as a graduate assistantathletic trainer at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn. At Cumberland, she served asthe primary trainer for the women’s soccer, women’s basketball and cycling teams, while alsohelping out with the football squad.A Humboldt, Tenn. native, Donaldson worked with the Skyhawk football, soccer,volleyball, men’s basketball and women’s basketball teams as an undergraduate at UTMartin. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance with aconcentration on athletic training.Donaldson is currently a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA)and the Tennessee Athletic Trainers Society (TATS).Donaldson earned her Master’s in education while working at Cumberland.Ryne Rickman has worked in the UT Martin sports information office since 2008. At UTMartin, Rickman is the media contact for football, volleyball, men’s basketball, baseball, golf,equestrian, rodeo and rifle teams. Rickman also serves as official statistician at most Skyhawkhome events, produces media guides, game day programs, press releases, and serves as amedia host and coordinating event operations.While at UT Martin, Rickman has taken part in several other sports information ventures.The last four seasons, he has served as the official statistician at the Ohio Valley Conferencemen’s and women’s basketball tournament in Nashville, where he was solely responsiblefor all stats from the tournament. He also served in that same role for the 2012 NCAA Men’sBasketball Tournament Second/Third Rounds, also held in Nashville.Rickman was also Tournament Director of the 2011 OVC Tennis Tournament, held inPaducah, Ky. In March of 2009, Rickman was a media relations assistant at the NCAA men’sbasketball South Regional tournament in Memphis, arranging press conferences and postgame interviews in the Sweet 16/Elite 8 rounds. He also served as official scorer of the 2008Major/60 12 Year Old Cal Ripken World Series in Martin from Aug. 7-14, 2008, overseeing thefour-day, 10-team national Babe Ruth Little League tournament.A native of Benton, Ky., Rickman came to UT Martin from Murray State, where he graduated with a degree in journalismand a minor in recreation in May 2008. He worked part-time as a student worker in the Athletics Media Relations officefor four years and was the media contact for track and field and cross country, and also the head researcher for footballand basketball media guides.
