IntroductionThis document provides a high-level summary of this release. It includes a summary of the newfeatures in this release, any authorization code changes required, any major installationchanges, and any transitioning issues you should be aware of before installing. Additionally, any last minute issues found in the final stages of testing are included.New FeaturesThe following new features are available in this release. Fan derating. Fans are often set to run below their maximum capacity, to reduce noiseand increase their lifetime, but still achieve thermal cooling requirements. Fans are runat less than maximum capacity by reducing the RPM that they operate at. This has theeffect of derating (reducing) the fan curve and is simulated using the Derating factor.Logical Expressions in Formula Dependency. Boundary conditions can be dependenton coordinates, time and monitor parameters such as goals. It is now possible to definesophisticated dependencies using conditional and Boolean expressions such as IF,AND, OR, XOR, NOT, (more than), (less than), (equal two). For example, youcan easily set a value of a heat source dependent on two different temperature sensors(defined as temperature goals) so that the dissipated power is downgraded dependingon the temperature at either one or another sensor.Altitude. The atmospheric pressure and temperature can be defined by setting theAltitude. Using the Altitude it is now much easier to conduct what-if or optimizationanalysis.Additional Rays for Radiation Sources. You can now add additional rays launchedfrom a radiation source (for Monte Carlo radiation only). This allows for betterresolution of radiation or light locally without significant increasing the total number ofrays and therefore saving the calculation time. In addition, radiation freezing can beenabled automatically.Network Assembly. Node power can now be dependent on Temperature.Authorization CodesNo changes to authorization codes are required for this release. You may request your existingauthorization codes by opening a non-technical Service Request on Support Center.https://support.mentor.comFor additional information on licensing, refer to the Mentor Graphics Standard Licensingmanual.Note - Viewing PDF files within a web browser causes some links not to function.
