SpecificationsMaterial SelectionThe Series 40/41 valve has a two-piece (split body) castiron body available in wafer and full lug construction. Allwafer valves have a flange with locating holes that meetANSI Class 125/150 (or BS 10 Table D and E, BS 4504PN10/16, DIN PN 10/16, AS 2129 and JIS 10) drilling. Thedisc/stem is a one-piece design having a thin profile, highflow capacity disc. If a PTFE or rubber covered disc isrequired, the entire disc material is encapsulated and theencapsulating material is homogeneous up and down aportion of the stem so as not to expose any part of the stemor disc to the line media. The seat is of the heavy-duty,square groove “center lock” seat design with primary hubseal and molded O-ring. The 316 SS disc has sphericallymachined and hand polished disc edge and hubs forminimum torque and maximum sealing capacity. Both bodystyles offer bidirectional sealing asstandard in conformance with full ASMEclass 150 and class 300 rating.Extended NeckExtended neck allows for 2” of pipelineinsulation and easy access to stempacking adjustment and actuatormounting.PinPins are offset from the center of thestem which places them in compressionrather than shear thus eliminatingpotential for failure. This ensurescontinuous compression of packing andsealing contact at the stem and body.Rocker shaped gland bridgecompensates for uneven adjustment ofgland bolts.Blow-out proof stemRetainer circlip provides blow -out proofstem.BearingsTop and bottom bearings, consisting ofa 316 stainless steel /TFE glass fabricliner bearing surface, securely supportthe stem.DiscThe disc has been engineered tomaximize flow and minimize resistanceto provide a high flow coefficient (Cv).The standard disc material is 316stainless steel.SeatThe unique seat design utilizes a flexiblelip seal concept. When the disc closes,this action causes a slight deflection inthe seat, energizing the seat. During thisenergized position, the seat has a storedenergy force constantly pushing againstthe disc.
