SANTIAGO: A MYTH OF THE FAR FUTUREA Visit to Keepsake: The Hunt BeginsIntroductionWBackgroundelcome to Santiago, a Myth of the FarOn Deluros VIII, the huge capital world of the race of Man,Future. This adventure, A Visit to Keep-the nerve center of the Democracy, there are eleven governmental departments and 1,306 men and women charged withsake: The Hunt Begins, is the first of eleventhe task of finding and terminating Santiago. They doubt thatSantiago is his given name, they suspect that some of themodules that will take the heroes across thecrimes attributed to him were committed by others, they arealmost certain that somewhere in their files they possess hisgalaxy in search of a legendary bandit whosephotograph or holograph but have not yet matched it with itsproper identity—and that is the sum total of their knowledgecapture, dead or alive, is worth twenty millionof him.Credits to the human government.RequirementsThis adventure makes use of the rules from the D&D 4E Player’sHandbook , the D&D 4E Dungeon Master’s Guide , and theD&D 4E Monster Manual . Additionally, the D&D 4E Player’sHandbook 2, the D&D 4E Adventurer’s Vault , and the D&D4E Monster Manual 2 provide useful expansions to provideeven richer immersion into the world. The adventure is designed to be played with a party size offive players and a Dungeon Master. The encounters and experience awards assume a party of 1st-level characters with littleto no prior experience point awards. If the adventure is run witha different party size or higher levels, the encounters will haveto be adjusted to provide enough experience to advance thecharacters to the next level and slightly beyond.Adventure OverviewThe campaign starts off with the party already in action onthe planet of Corvus, where each has found his or her way tothe local post office where sit the three holograms of a localband of thieves and murderers, the Suliman brothers. Whether they got to this point individually or together, rumors thatthere are more than just three of the brothers at work on Corvus drive them to join forces if they’re to collect the reward.Successful or not, the heroes next find their way to Keepsake, a world to which bounty hunters are known to travel. In the tradertown of Moritat, at a bar called Gentry’s Emporium, the heroes receive their first lead on a man every bountyhunter has been seeking for almost thirty years, Santiago.Campaigns in SpaceWith the possibility of a twenty million Credit reward loom-This campaign focuses on classic Dungeons & Dragons gameplay from a science fiction point of view. Where in a fantasy setting you may find horses, magic spells, and knightsin armor battling to save the queen, in this campaign you canexpect to find spaceships, aliens, and laser pistols as yourparty travels across the galaxy. In the end, the game and itsrules remains the same. You’ll still need to roll a die to attack, some more for damage, and watch that some threat or obstacledoesn’t attack your own defenses or challenge your skills. For more information about running a sci-fi game such asthis, be sure to check out the Santiago Adventure Path Campaign Guide, available for free from EN World.ing over them and news that the Angel, a notorious bountyhunter with a reputation for catching every outlaw he’s evergone after, has recently come to the inner frontier, the partywill want to leave as quickly as they can for the planet of PortÉtrange. It is there that the group will meet Halfpenny Terwilliger, a gambler on the run, and retrieve some informationregarding Santiago from a man named Stern.1
