Contributing to the Roadmap:The Role of RPE’s

The Role of the RPE Critical -1- This is a fundamental feature expected ofa modern, global system and addressing this featureis a top priority.priority Essential -2- This is a fundamental feature, but thereare other means (potentially less straight forward orefficient)ffi i t) thatth t can achievehitheth same goal.l If therethwere no resource or time constraints, “Essential”features would be considered “Critical”. Important -3- A feature that would enhance theproduct and is an important capability, but one thatcan be left out of a release without significantgnegative impact to customer business processes.25

The Role of the RPE Conditional -4- A feature that would enhance theproduct but is not in the immediate planning horizon. OptionalO til -55 A ffeaturetththatt may or may nott bbeworthwhile to the overall value of the product tomost customers. This enhancement may not beaddressedddd exceptt throughthh an overhaulh l off thethproduct. That’s the published definitions – now what doesthat translate to in reality ?26

The Role of the RPE1. Will get attention as soon as practical.2. Some number of them will get a focus on the nextrelease, lor sooner.3. Likely to be tackled after the 2’s if any time left onthe next release; or, if tied to a Roadmap item, donewith that feature whenever it is scheduled.4. Kept in mind when the Roadmap is being evaluated.5 Likely to be brought up when features being rebuilt5.rebuilt.27
