What is DegreeWorks?Degree Works is a web-based application that allows students to view their progress towards adegree. On screen or in the form of a two to four page print out, it lists all requirementsincluding: courses previously taken, courses currently enrolled, assessment tests, transfer creditsand much more.Benefits of DegreeWorks Supports real time delivery of degree completion information through intuitive web selfservice interfaces. Degree audit shows progress toward degree completion in an easy to read format including:–– a visual completion barindividual course requirements needed to complete the degreeWhat If audit shows how progress toward degree completion changes if they add a certifcateor change their program.

Insufficient Courses: This block lists courses in which thestudent received a grade of (I)ncomplete, (F)ail, or(W)ithdrawal. These courses are not counted toward therequirements of the degreeIn Progress: Courses registeredfor but not completedNot counted: this blockincludes courses whichdo not apply to thestudent’s degreeprogram.College Placement Testscores

Of Interest: For students with either– 2 AA or 2 AS degreeprograms– An associates degreeand a certificateprogram

Performing a What If ScenarioIf you are thinking about changing your degree or certificateprogram, DegreeWorks has provided the What If tool toenable you to apply your course history to a sample auditwith any of these changes. This tool will also allow you toenter future courses to see how they will apply using theLook Ahead feature.To access the What If Option, click on the “What If” link onthe left side of the audit under the “Worksheets” tab.

Once on the What If screen, you will use the dropdown boxes to select the desired degree orcertificate program, as well as add additional futureclasses to the audit scenarioPerforming a What If ScenarioContinuedStep 2: After selecting desiredcriteria, press the “process What-If”button. DegreeWorks will then takeyour entire course history and apply itto an audit with the newly selectedchanges.Step 1: Select anotherdegree or certificate fromthe drop down menu.Important note: in order tochange your degree program,you must contact yourAcademic Advisor or call theAdvising Center at 978 6309109.Optional Step: Add futurecourses. Access coursedescriptions through the “find”button.

Printing a What If auditOnce all of your selections have been made on the What If parameter screen, you have theoption to “Save as a PDF”. Clicking this button at the top of the screen will run the What Ifscenario and insert it into a PDF document that you can either save or print out.
