PROJ E CTDE V E LOPM E N TIn the afternoon sessions, schools work together as a teamto create their vision for the business, develop a coherentstrategy, produce a business plan, and prepare for the finalpitch at the end of the programme.THE STRATEGYThe business strategy provides a roadmap for the company. Itreveals the unifying theme, vision and story of the brand and alsoclearly positions the company and product in the target market,paying close attention to competition. It considers the future planfor the company by mapping out clear objectives. Careful analysis offinancial matters and marketing objectives are examined.THE BUSINESS PLANThe business plan brings together the different elements requiredfor the product strategy. Although teams will not be judged on thebusiness plan itself, a detailed business plan will ensure that the teamconsiders all the necessary elements of their company – being wellprepared to discuss them with conviction and confidence when thejudges ask questions.THE FINAL PITCHThe ultimate aim of the final pitch is to convince the judges that theidea being presented is not only viable, but also one that they wouldhypothetically be prepared to risk investing in.Students will benefit from use of presentation tools such as MicrosoftPowerPoint in their pitch. As part of the business lectures, students willalso learn communication strategies to convey their idea in the bestpossible way – using eye contact, tone of voice, ability to convey withconviction and confidence, and gestures for emphasis. Teams should berehearsed and well prepared as they step in front of the panel of judges.1213

From the carefulselection of our staff and locations to the academic andcultural programme, student welfare is our number onepriority. Although the Masters is an intensive, challengingcompetition, it is still crucial that the students have a funand memorable time with us, and that parents know theyare happy and well looked after.OUR SUPPORTOur experienced staff are on-site and available 24hours a day. They ensure that students settle in,make friends and use English throughout their stayhere. They also accompany students on excursionsand meet them at the airport when they arrive. Eachcampus has its own dedicated Welfare Officer andStudent Advice Bureau, which students can visit at anytime for support, information, or help with problems.Upon arrival, students will have a compulsory inductionsession, during which they will receive informationabout emergency procedures and the code of conductexpected of them while they are here.
