Minnesota Black Newspaper IndexLast updated June 2002Author’s note:My name is Brendan Henehan. This is an informal index of newspapers that I havecompiled over the past several years. It is not meant to be an exhaustive listing oftopics. I have looked at each of the newspapers listed in the Newspaper Key of thisindex, quickly scanning them for topics of interest to me. You’ll notice particularpassions of mine: baseball, media and the law. Yet I have tried to be general in myinterests as well. Each of the papers listed in the key are available at theMinnesota Historical Society except for the New York Age, which is available at theUniversity of Minnesota’s Wilson Library. I’m not a librarian or a professionalhistorian, so please be patient with my subject listings. My goal in creating thisindex is to share information and whet folks’ appetites about regional AfricanAmerican history. There are a lot of good stories here. And my goal is to get morepeople interested in them. I would be more than happy to answer any questionspeople have about anything listed here. I am also eager to hear from the manypeople who know more about this stuff than I do. Feel free to contact me at 651229-1379 or 651-690-0246. My email address is bhenehan@tpt.org.
