PREFACEThe Australian Gas Association (AGA) manages and operates accredited Product CertificationSchemes, with funding largely provided by Certificate Holders through certification fees andbadge sales. The AGA is an active participant in the standards writing process withrepresentation on many Standards Australia committees that develop and publish the standardsthat underpin the Schemes.In addition to product certification services for the electrical and plumbing industries, the AGAcertifies gas product for the following categories or any combination of these categories:Natural GasTown GasTempered Liquefied Petroleum GasLiquefied Petroleum GasApproval for Liquefied Petroleum Gas appliances is divided into three sub-groups, designatedas P (Propane), B (Butane) or U (Universal) gas.Product Compliance:Product that has been certified by AGA to comply with the requirements of the relevantCode/Standard, is subject to the Rules Governing the Scheme and, if required under theScheme, is subject to routine and regular audits to confirm continued compliance.Directory Structure:AGA now certifies a variety of products, which are subject to one or more specific accreditedtype-tested schemes.
