Crowthercredits the smooth transitionfrom architecture toconstruction to Wentworth’sco-op program, whichexposed him to all aspects ofthe business. Through the coop program, he recalls,students had the chance tochoose their profession,instead of feeling locked intoone. Crowther now teachesnew co-ops at the firm usingthe same philosophy andhands-on mentoring he oncereceived through the co-opprogram.As President and Founder ofLazarex Cancer Foundation,Mrs. Dornsife helps end-stagecancer patients navigate FDAclinical trials and providesfinancial assistance asneeded for potentially lifesaving access to newtherapies. In thesummer of 2011 and again in2012, I interned at theprestigious GlimmerglassOpera Company. Fastforward more than a decade,and Grundy is AVTECH’s vicepresident and director ofengineering. While he was astudent at University ofMalaya (UM), Jeff did aninternship in a laboratory at abrewery company. Cognizantof the merits of industryexposure for undergraduates,Mr Lee has been instrumentalin providing UM students withon-the-job training throughPanasonic’s Cradle to Careerprogramme. In recognition ofPanasonic’s contribution tothe development of UMstudents, Panasonic Malaysiawas the recipient of the UM’sIndustry-Collaborator Award2011.John McKenney (BS,Industrial Engineering, 1990)is President and CEO ofMcKenney’s, Inc., an Atlantabased mechanical contractor.McKenney was a co-op atMcKenney’s while in college,and after graduation workedas a sales engineer for theTrane Company in Charlotte,NC. He returned toMcKenney’s in 1997, and heldthe positions of ProjectManager, Senior ProjectManager, and Vice Presidentof Atlanta Construction, priorto being appointed to hiscurrent position.
