Tuning and Proper FitIt is very important that your bow isadjusted to fit you properly. Assistancein achieving proper fit should be provided by your Authorized BOWTECHDealer. The draw length of all currentBOWTECH bows can be adjusted without draw length specific modules. The Rotating ModSystem makes this feature possible.By simply rotating the module clockwise or counterclockwise, your drawlength can be adjusted in 1/2 inchincrements.OverDrive BinaryCam System models(RPM 360, Experience, Carbon OverDrive,Insanity CPXL, and Specialist)Refer to Figure 1 and Charts 1 & 21. You will need to press your bow,in some settings, to adjust the drawlength on bows with the OverdriveBinary Cam System. BOWTECH recommends that you only use a limb tippress to service your bow and thatyou take your bow to your AuthorizedBOWTECH Dealer for adjustment ofyour bow’s draw length.2. Once the bow is in the press andthe tension on the string and cableshas been relieved, use a 9/64 inch hexwrench to remove the module screwsthat attach the modules to the cams.3. Notice the indexing post on themodule and the numbered slots in thecam. All bows are factory preset to a29 inch draw length, with the indexingpost positioned in the correspondingnumbered slot. The lowest numberedslot corresponds to the longest drawlength setting.4. To lengthen the draw length, rotatethe module so that the indexing postis placed in a lower numbered slot. Forexample, if an Experience was shippedwith the indexing post in the #5 slot at29 inches of draw length, you wouldplace it in the #1 slot for a 31 inchdraw length.5. To shorten the draw length, rotatethe module so that the indexing post isplaced in a higher numbered slot. This will prevent thescrews from loosening during normaluse of the bow.6. After repositioning the module, you will need to reposition the drawstop post. To do this, loosen the drawstop post screw and slide the post tothe appropriate position, as indicatedin Chart 2, and retighten the screw.Once set, small adjustments canbe made to the post to fine tunedraw length and let-off. Post settingadjustments allow fine tuning toachieve individual draw lengthrequirements, however adjusting thedraw length will affect the let-off andvalley at the same time. Achieving anexact let-off at a specific draw lengthmay require some trial and error andthe use of a scale. See your AuthorizedBOWTECH Dealer for assistance.Cable CenteredBetween DotsFigure 3: Cam TimingTIMING THE BOWTECH CAMSThere are small indentations or “timingdots” on the module-side of the camnear its perimeter. When viewingthe bow directly from the moduleside of the cam, the cable should beapproximately centered in betweenthe timing dots as shown in Figure 3.Adjusting the timing requires that thebow be put in a press, and as such, yourAuthorized BOWTECH Dealer shouldperform all timing adjustments.SETTING THE DRAW WEIGHTDraw weights are adjustable approximately 10 pounds downward depending on the model. Consult your localAuthorized BOWTECH Dealer forinformation regarding weight adjustment for your bow model. All bowsperform best at peak weight.Draw weight can be adjusted byusing a hex wrench to either tighten6or loosen the limb bolt. The specificmethod for adjusting draw lengthvaries by model as described below.WARNING: DO NOT TURN THELIMB BOLTS OUT MORE THAN THERECOMMENDED AMOUNT. Doing socould cause the limbs to break out oftheir pockets and result in bodilyinjury.

Using a 9/64 inch hex wrench on theRPM 360 and a 5/32 inch hex wrenchon the Specialist, loosen the four pocket locking screws. The screws do notneed to be completely removed, onlyloosened.on the Specialist. On the Specialist,DO NOT back out the limb bolt anymore that 6 turns. When the bow isbacked out six turns, the pocket locking screws will be near the end oftheir slot. On the RPM 360, you mayuse the limb bolt inspection hole for areference when backing out the limbbolt. DO NOT back out the limb boltbeyond the limb bolt inspection holeon the RPM 360. The top and bottomlimb bolts should be tightened andloosened equally. Re-tighten all (4)pocket locking screws after adjusting.2. Using a ¼ inch hex wrench tightenor loosen the limb bolt to increase ordecrease draw weight. One full turnequals approximately 1 pound on theRPM 360 and approximately 2 pounds4. It is possible that adjusting the limbbolts may have caused the pocketpivot screw to loosen. For this reason, use a 5/32 inch hex wrench to ensurethat the pocket pivot screw is tight.Draw weight on these models can beadjusted 10 pounds down from thebow’s peak draw weight. For example,if the bow is shipped as a 60 poundmodel, the draw weight can beadjusted down to 50 pounds. Theprocedure is as follows:Using a hex wrench, tighten orloosen the limb bolts to increaseor decrease draw weight. For theExperience, and Insanity CPXL,contone turn of the limb bolt equalsapproximately 1 pound. For theCarbon OverDrive, Carbon Knight andCarbon Rose, one turn of the limbbolt equals approximately 3 pounds.DO NOT back out the limb bolt pastthe limb bolt inspection hole in theriser. The limb bolt MUST BE visible inthe limb bolt inspection hole (Figure5). The top and bottom limb boltsshould be tightened and loosenedequally.ADJUSTING THE STRING STOPTo increase the effectiveness of yourstring stop dampener you want itto maintain contact with the stringat rest. If you have backed downthe draw weight to set your draw toyour comfort level you may need toadjust your string stop as your braceheight may have increased. To do this, loosen the side set screw on the riseras shown (Figure 6) with a 9/64 hexwrench. Pull out the string stop untilit makes contact again with the string.Verify that the string stop is orientedcorrectly and retighten the side setscrew.Set ScrewMeasureHereMeasureHereFigure 6: Adjusting the string stop8Figure 7: Determining Center Shot

SETTING CENTER SHOTCenter shot can be set by measuringfrom the back of the riser to the arrowand then from the front of the riserto the arrow. Once this is equal, youare at the approximate center shotof your bow (see Figure 7). This is agood starting point when tuning yourBOWTECH bow. Keep in mind, not allbows tune at exact center shot dueto the variances in arrow spine, handposition, and your specific bow poundage. Adjust your arrow rest until thetwo measurements are equal.BOW MAINTENANCE.Your BOWTECH bow was made withthe highest quality components to lastfor a lifetime of use in the field withproper maintenance. It is importantthat you NEVER draw and release abow without an arrow on the string. This could not only hurt you, butcan damage your bow. If the bow isdry fired at any time, take it to yourlocal dealer for a complete inspection.Never leave your BOWTECH bow inan area of extreme temperatures. Thiscould cause your string and cables tostretch which effects timing. Before shooting your bow, alwaysinspect the string and cables and checkthe limbs for any visible damage. Ifdamage is found, take the bow to yourlocal BOWTECH dealer for inspectionor repair.Your BOWTECH bow comes equippedwith sealed bearings in both cams. There is no need to lubricate cams.String & Cables.Your BOWTECH custom bowstring is manufactured to provide long string life andabsolute consistency, shot after shot. This results in greater accuracy and less timespent re-tuning your equipment. It is recommended that you cycle the bow 10-20 times to settle the string as aresult of relaxation during packaging and shipping.Wax the string often. We recommend BCYML 6 synthetic string wax or an equivalent product. To wax the string, apply wax liberally to entire length of string. Rubbriskly with fingers until the string appears slick. Remove all excess wax with aclean cloth. We recommend that you wax every other time you shoot your bowto lengthen the life of your string and cable sets.If you need assistance with setting up, tuning or solving an arrow flight problem, contact your Authorized BOWTECH Dealer.9

Without the resistance ofa properly weighted arrow to absorbthe energy, you may damage the bowand cause personal injury to yourself10ALWAYS wear safety glasses whenoperating or adjusting your bow.ALWAYS use an appropriate backstopfor maximum safety. An appropriatebackstop must be constructed of adurable material and must extendbeyond the perimeter of the target. The recommended backstop size isdetermined by the accuracy and abilityof the shooter. Aim and drawONLY in the direction of an appropriatetarget. ALWAYS have a full view ofthe path to and beyond the targetwhen shooting.ALWAYS check all arrow componentsprior to shooting, including nock, insertand tip. Loose components can causeunbalanced arrow flight and partialdry firing of the bow. If an arrow hasbeen damaged, or if you believe it hasbeen damaged, do not shoot it again,as it could break on release, and sharparrow pieces could strike and injureyou or someone nearby.NEVER retrieve arrows or allowanyone else to do so until all arrowshave been shot.NEVER draw the bow without properlyadjusted limb bolts (see “AdjustingDraw Weight” section for moreinformation). Make sure the string andcables are properly attached to thecorrect post and in the correct tracks in
