Sadly, mostchildren are abused bysomeone considered to be a “known and trusted”person – that person may be a family member –even someone living in the same house as thechild. Pay attention to the conversations yourchildren are having, as words can be indicatorsthat a child is being groomed or harmed. If yourchild or their friend(s) seem to “know” moreabout sexual topics than would be expected fortheir age, or seems unusually focused on suchtopics, it could be an indicator that somethinginappropriate and harmful is happening. Talk toyour child about it, reassuring them that it is bothimportant and safe to tell you what is happening. For more information on this topic, visit CATIONPrograms 2020-2021First Communion:

We arereminded that regardless of our background, we are allbuilt in the image of God and should be treated as such.“It is of vital importance for us toembrace love for our neighbor aswe love ourselves and live out thiscommitment daily.
