Juli, 2017.Ada banyak sekali buku berasal dari negara lain yang mana buku tersebutmenggunakan bahasa asal dari buku. Masyarakat harus memahami dengan benarmaksud dan pesan yang terkandung di dalamnya dengan menerjemahkan ataumengadaptasi bahasa tersebut. Disitulah karya terjemahan dibutuhkan. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pergeseran terjemahan dari frasa verbal yangditemukan dalam novel The Alchemist dan terjemahannya. Hasil dari penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa dari 2454 data, ada 547 data yang termasuk ke dalampergeseran terjemahan dari frasa verbal. Peneliti menemukan 2 tipe pergeseranterjemahan, yaitu pergeseran dalam struktural dan unit/ level. Terdapat 2454 dataatau 100% data untuk aspek keakuratan, 2246 data atau 91,52% data untuk aspekkeberterimaan dan 2433 data atau 99,14% data untuk keterbacaan. Dari uraian di atasdapat disimpulkan bahwa pergeseran yang paling dominan ditemukan dalampenelitian ini adalah pergeseran unit/level. Kualitas terjemahan dalam novel TheAlchemist termasuk kategori terjemahan yang bagus.Kata Kunci: pergeseran terjemahan, kualitas terjemahan, frasa verbalvii
ABSTRACTNia Rieza/A320130149. THE TRANSLATION SHIFT ANALYSIS OF VERBPHRASE OF THE ALCHEMIST BY PAULO COELHO. Research Paper. Schoolof Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. May,2017.Most of books come from other country and it was in their language well. Peoplehave to understand their meaning or message by translating or adapting thatlanguage. So that’s why translation is needed. This study aims to describe thetranslation shift of verb phrase found in The Alchemist novel and to clarify thetranslation quality of the novel. The type of this study is descriptive qualitative. Thedata of this study were collected from the sentences consisting of verb phrase. Thedata sources are novel The Alchemist and its translation. The result of this studyshows that from 2454 data, there are 547 data belong to translation shift of verbphrase. The researcher finds 2 types of translation shift, they are structure and unit orlevel shift. Then there are 2454 data or 100% of accuracy level, 2246 data or 91,52%of acceptability level, and 2433 data or 99,14% of high readability. It can beconcluded that the dominant shift is unit or level shift and the translation quality ofthis novel belongs to good translation.Keyword: translation shift, translation quality, verb phraseviii
