PSAT-Related AssessmentsPSAT/NMSQT AND PSAT 10PRACTICE FOR PSAT/NMSQT AND PSAT 10The PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 are the same test, offered atdifferent times of year. They are components of the SAT Suiteof Assessments and tightly aligned with the SAT. In addition,these tests serve as check-ins on student progress and pinpointareas for development. For 11th graders, the PSAT/NMSQT is thequalifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program, anacademic competition for recognition and scholarships.To get ready for the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10, students canvisit collegeboard.org/psatpractice for full practice tests andsample questions. There’s also a full practice test included withthe PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide.The PSAT/NMSQT is offered to 10th and 11th graders in thefall. Instead of testing in the fall, some schools may deliver thePSAT 10 in the spring. Both tests support student progress byfocusing on the skills and knowledge that matter most for collegeand career success.PSAT 8/9The PSAT 8/9 is the first test in the SAT Suite of Assessments.Using the same specifications as the SAT, the PSAT/NMSQT,and the PSAT 10, it establishes a baseline for college andcareer readiness as students enter high school. SpringBoardCSS ProfileSpringBoard is a different kind of instructional program for EnglishLanguage Arts and Mathematics in grades 6–12. Developedby teachers for teachers, SpringBoard offers core instructionalmaterials in print and digital that are fully aligned to statestandards, Advanced Placement coursework, and the SAT Suiteof Assessments. The program features student materials, teacherresources, and formative and summative assessments, as well asprofessional learning for teachers and administrators.springboard.collegeboard.orgThe CSS Profile is a common financial aid application.
