Tra;c conditions set the tolls.Tips and SavingsSensors are deployed that measure congestion and adjust the tolls as the number of vehicles inthe lanes increase. The more tra;c in the ExpressLanes, the higher the toll amount. The less tra;cin the ExpressLanes, the lower the toll amount. However, the toll amount is locked in oncea vehicle is in the ExpressLanes. An existing FasTrak can be used, but will be charged the singleoccupancy toll.If speeds fall below 45 mph for more than ten minutes, the ExpressLanes signs alert solo driversnot to enter the ExpressLanes until speeds climb back to 45 mph or faster. However, a solo driveralready with a trip in progress in the ExpressLanes is allowed to complete their trip. This helpsensure smoother flowing tra;c in the ExpressLanes for all who use them. Prior to starting your trip, setswitchable FasTrak to indicate thenumber of people in your vehicle. If a Sig-Alert occurs and the toll payer was not able to travel at the minimum average speed of45 mph, the customer’s FasTrak account is automatically credited the toll by the next business day. Avoid a citation; don’t cross thedouble solid white lines. Tolls range from 25 cents to 1.40 per mile. Toll amount is locked in at themoment you enter the ExpressLanes. Motorcycles should always setFasTrak to “3.” ExpressLanes Equity Plan customerscan open a FasTrak account at areduced rate.
