History of the SchoolsMemphis, TennesseeThe school was established in 1979 as Control DataInstitute. In 1985, Hi-Tech Corp. acquired the school, andit became the Memphis Institute of Technology.Concorde Career Colleges, Inc., purchased the schoolin November 1988. In 1989, the name changed toConcorde Career Institute.Concorde began focusing on allied healthcareoccupations. The Medical Assistant program was firstoffered in 1990, and the Medical Office Professionalprogram was added in 1991. In 1995, the DentalAssisting program was added to the curriculum,followed by the Pharmacy Technician program in April1997. A Nurse Aide Training program was added inOctober 1998 and a Respiratory Therapy program inMarch 2000, making Concorde Career Institute a totalallied healthcare instructional facility.Approval to grant an Associate of Applied Science inRespiratory Therapy, Medical Assisting, DentalAssisting, Medical Office Professional, and PharmacyTechnician was received in 1999. As a result, the namechanged to Concorde Career College. In 2002,Concorde received approval to offer Massage Therapy.In 2003, Surgical Technology was approved. A DentalHygiene program was approved in 2008, and a PhysicalTherapist Assistant program was approved in 2009. In2010, Concorde received approval to offer RadiologicTechnology. In 2011, Concorde received approval tooffer Occupational Therapy Assistant.
