For the “do-it-yourselfer” whowould prefer to take the primary role in the upgrade, wehave programs in place to provide you with project planninginformation and tools designed to successfully guide youthrough the process. Epicor can also provide assistance withkey activities to supplement your project at any time. Theseservices include: performance testing and tuning, sourcingand installing any new hardware required, and working withany current software customizations. For those customers on certain versions of Epicor Vantage /Vista or Epicor ERP, Epicor willconduct a two pass database upgrade and will move all of your current data into the new system.For those running Epicor iSolutions, Epicor iScala , or Epicor Enterprise , Epicor Consulting will extractyour data and format it so it can be easily imported into Epicor ERP through our Data ManagementTool (DMT). DMT enables you to import and validate data simultaneously into Epicor ERP, as data isimported through the application business logic ensuring data integrity and optimal performance. Thistool can also be used beyond the initial data migration for any large data imports you need to do intoEpicor ERP.For those needing to update custom applications, reports, product configurators, or business activityqueries, Epicor has tools in place to quickly identify existing customizations and then can providevarying degrees of assistance to help ensure the customizations are uplifted properly to Epicor ERP.Test and Train:Following our Signature Methodology, Epicor will work with you to document use cases and end userprocedures. This activity gives you the opportunity to dive deeper into the system and focus on howyou need to conduct processes so they best fit your business. Your system will then be configuredbased on the outputs from the documented use cases and end user procedures. The configurationincludes system settings, control records, and representative data sufficient for unit testing.Epicor will also help you confirm that your use cases were accurately identified and complete throughproof of concept testing. The proof of concept starts with unit testing where you will elicit subjectmatter experts from your organization to test the system functionality for their specific functional area.This type of testing verifies that functionality and use cases in each area are valid and ready to proceed3

You will also conduct an end-to-end proof of concept to validate the flowof data and documents from one department to another.In order to complete the applicable testing, your core project team needs to gain basic applicationknowledge on standard system functionality. During cut-over, the core team will provide go-live support and the project managers fromyour company and Epicor will monitor the process to better ensure success.4
