Follow us on Social Media @CSUFSON.The Jump Start program provides students with an opportunity to enroll in BSN courses from our RN-BSNcurriculum while also being enrolled in a California Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program. The JumpStart program only operates in the 10-week summer session through Extended and International Programs(EIP)’s Open University.Participating in Jump Start does not make you an enrolled, current student at California State University,Fullerton. This will happen when you are ready to apply for the RN-BSN program.Tuition for Jump Start is available online by visiting: aspx.Each summer session, the School of Nursing will offer: NURS 305: Professional Nursing (3 units) NURS 310: Nursing Research/Evidence Based Practice (3 units)First-time Jump Start students can select to take NURS 310 or NURS 305. There is a maximum of onecourse per summer session. If space permits, both options may be completed in the same summersession, where priority will be given to third and fourth semester ADN students.Applicants can decide to take a course either face-to-face or online.Students who complete at least one course through Jump Start with a “C” or higher will receive guaranteedadmission to the RN-BSN program. As a reminder, you are still required to apply during the applicationperiod and meet the admission requirements. If you do not meet the requirements when applying, you willnot be admitted into the RN-BSN program even if you have guaranteed admission.To be eligible for the Jump Start program, an applicant must demonstrate: Currently enrolled and in good academic standing in a California ADN program Completed at least one (1) semester of the ADN program prior to starting the Jump Start programCan be in-progress with the first semester during the application Completion of the nursing and university prerequisites for the RN-BSN program* with a grade pointaverage of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scaleMust earn a “C” or higher in the prerequisite requirementsThe Jump Start application is open from February 1 to March 1.When you are ready to apply, you will need to complete the School of Nursing application. You will onlyneed to complete the Jump Start application.Graduating fourth semester ADN students (May or June) must also complete a Fall application for theRN-BSN program to be eligible to participate. Before you begin your application, make sure to read the entire application guide. You will want to makesure that you have all the required documents to submit your application. Use the checklist below. Theitems may take time to obtain and may require assistance from your current institution.DOCUMENT UPLOAD CHECKLIST:Unofficial transcripts from each institution attended and converted to a PDF fileCSU General Education Breadth CertificateSchool of Nursing Verification Form filled out by your Nursing Director orCounselorThe application will only be available from February 1 to March 1. No early or late applications areaccepted. Personal Information:Once you create your account, you will be directed to fill in your personal information. All fields are requiredto be filled out. Make sure you write down your primary email. The School of Nursing will send emailcommunication to that email address. When you are complete with this section, you will want to select“Save and Continue”. It will direct you back to the main checklist. If you do not click save, you will lose allthe information you included in this section.Educational Information:You will want to answer each question in this section. Educational Background:It is crucial that you include all college-level institutions. To add an institution, you must write the institution name (noabbreviations) and select your status. Click “Add New Entry” and that institution will save to your application. If youhave more than one institution, you will need to repeat the process. Once you click “Add New Entry” to your lastcollege-level institution, click “Return to Checklist”.Document Uploads:You will need to upload your unofficial transcripts, CSU General Breadth Certificate, and verification form in itsrespected location. All documents must be PDF files. You will choose the file and click “Upload” to add the documentto your application. Once all sections are complete, you will select “Return to Checklist”.Jump Start Application Guide
Registration/Waiver:You will indicate the course and format you’d like to participate in the summer. You will be provided with an estimatedtuition price once both sections are selected.Make sure to read the Jump Start Student Waiver of Information. Once all sections have been completed, you will see that the submit button is available. Make sure all sections areaccurate and have all the information need for your application.
