Career Pathways Program Articulation AgreementBetweenIndian River State CollegeAndSt. Lucie County School DistrictThis agreement ensures that the students of St. Lucie County are best served by secondary career &technical programs (CTE) and by Indian River State College in all degree/certification programs wherearticulated credits are applicable. The following is agreed upon by St. Lucie School Districtsand Indian River State College to ensure that students completing Career Pathways (CTE) Academiesbe awarded appropriate college credit:1.St. Lucie high school graduates may receive college credits or clock hours.2.Students will be awarded articulation credits upon initial registration at IRSC, except whereentrance/competency exams are needed based on program acceptance and/or courseplacement, and as part of the program selection process in IRSC Educational Services.Credits awarded at program selection are final and a one-time process.3.Following the provisions of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, thearticulated courses will be identified as “Tech Prep” or “Career Pathways” in the appropriatediscipline and identified on the college transcript as such. The articulated credits will beincluded on the student's official college transcript with the designation of "satisfactory" andcounted toward the appropriate degree or certificate.

Additional credits are available to students under the Florida Statewide Articulations Agreementsalso known as (Gold Standard Agreements). Refer to IRSC’s Industry Certification webpage toreview eligible courses and procedures to have articulated credits posted on transcripts.Student should seek advisement at any IRSC campus to determine which credits are applicable to theirindividual educational goals. Articulation credit may only be awarded within 36 (thirty six) monthsfrom the student’s graduation date. Application of Credits to an IRSC program is a one-time electionprocess.Indian River State College’s Research Coast Consortium and partnered school districts are incompliance with the Code of Federal Regulation §99.31 Exception to Written Consent; therefore, aninstitution may release personally identifiable information from a student’s education record withoutthe students written consent as required in §99.30 if the disclosure meets one or more of the followingconditions: The disclosure is to other school officials, including teachers, whom the institution hasdetermined to have legitimate educational interests. A contractor or other party to whom anagency or institution has outsourced institutional services or functions may be considered aschool official. An educational agency or institution must use reasonable methods to ensurethat school officials obtain access to only those education records in which they have legitimateeducational interests.The disclosure is to officials of another institution of post-secondary education where thestudent seeks or intends to enroll.The disclosure is to authorized representatives or federal, state or local educational authorities.The disclosure is information the educational agency or institution has designated as “directoryinformation.”This agreement will be effective upon signing by the district superintendent, the college president,and their respective board chairman. This agreement will include 2016 high school graduates. Thisagreement certifies that the secondary level instruction of Career Pathways/Tech Prep students is incompliance with the requirements set forth by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.This agreement allows for modifications to be made at any time upon the mutual agreement of thecollege president and the district superintendent.
