Micro Motion CNG050 flowmetersThe first full-range CNG flowmeter designedand tested specifically for compressed naturalgas, resulting in better performance in CNGapplications. The CNG050 meter was specifically designed forthe CNG industry to meet the challenges ofmeasuring compressed natural gas. The meter’sincreased rangeability allows customers theflexibility to use the sensor for automobile or lightor heavy-duty vehicle dispenser designs.Micro Motion CNG050 meters feature integraltransmitters, making them easy to install. Offeredwith Series 1000 and 2000 transmitters withMVD Technology, customers can choose eithersingle or multivariable output configurations withmilliamp, pulse, dual pulse, digital outputs, and anintegral display.Micro Motion MVD Direct Connect Technologyis making Coriolis flowmeters from Micro Motioneven more suitable for CNG applications. OEMscan benefit from MVD Direct Connect Technology, which allows smart sensors to communicatedirectly with dispenser head electronics viaModbus — no transmitter is required!2Micro Motion CNG050 FlowmeterLike all Micro Motion flowmeters, CNG050 metersoffer highly accurate direct mass and volume flowmeasurement.Micro Motion CNG050 meters are designed toperform in even the most harsh operatingenvironments, and carry hazardous areaapprovals for the U.S.A., Canada, and Europe.Easy to useCNG050 meters have no moving parts, no needfor periodic recalibration, non-intrusive design, and no regular maintenance requirements.Wide rangeabilityThe CNG050 meter is used for both car and busdispenser designs alike. With a 1–100 kg/min flowrange, the CNG050 is truly a one-size-fits-all CNGflowmeter.CNG station reconciliationThe AGA 11 guidelines recently published by theAmerican Gas Association allow for the use ofCoriolis meters like the Micro Motion CNG050 inthe custody transfer of natural gas. Combining alow pressure check meter (such as a Micro MotionELITE or F-Series sensor) on the natural gasinlet with a CNG050 dispensing meter allows fortrue mass balancing of CNG stations.

Morethan 400,000 Micro Motion meters are installed inapplications worldwide, including 15,000 CNGapplications.Greater accuracy and versatilityMicro Motion CNG050 meters have a CNGaccuracy of 0.5% of delivered batch over a flowrange of 2 to 220 lbs/min (1 to 100 kg/min). Thistranslates to reduced dispenser losses and isapproved worldwide by weights and measuresauthorities.Vehicle fillingBecause of its clean combustion, CNG isincreasingly used as a vehicle fuel in many partsof the world. Micro Motion CNG050 meters usedin dispenser stations are routinely verified(proved) against a gravimetric standard, thehighest performance rating possible. In addition, the CNG050 meter can be used as a MasterMeter standard, thus providing increased safetyand eliminating cumbersome scale setup andventing of gas.Micro Motion CNG050 Flowmeter3

Micro Motion CNG050 flowmeters continuedSoftware functionalityThe CNG050 sensor can be used with MicroMotion transmitter with MVD Technology. Thestandard software option of the Series 1000 or2000 is most common.A Micro Motion MVD Direct Connect pass-throughI.S. barrier can also be used in public stations if itis installed in a separate, sealable housing.Weights and measures configuration lockoutFor applications that require weights andmeasures approval for legal trade (i.e., publicCNG stations), the weights and measuresconfiguration lockout software option forModel 2500 and 2700 transmitters should beordered with the CNG050 sensor. Theconfiguration lockout software option allows thetransmitter to be changed from operating (secure)mode to configuration mode (and back again)using ProLink II software. The transmitter willregister flow only when in the operating (secure)mode. The transmitter will allow configurationchanges and zeroing of the meter only when inconfiguration mode. When the configuration lockout option is ordered,a means is provided for physically sealing thetransmitter housing. The configuration lockout software option may notbe required by certain world area weights andmeasures authorities. The performance of theCNG050 sensor is not affected by configurationlockout, and the sensor meets batch and accuracyspecifications with standard features.4Micro Motion CNG050 Flowmeter
