The switch will be open when the park brake is on.When park brake is applied while the transmission is in drive :- The switch opens the circuit to the TCM- Shifter will display "AN" and TCM will shift to neutral- Shifter will continue to display "AN" until the park brake is released. To clear "AN" from the display the driver must shift toNeutral and then to Drive.This is a hardwired circuit from the switch to TCM pins 19 and 33.
