Dear Colleague:I’d like to invite you to become a member of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers, whose mission is to:Increase the quality, effectiveness and capacity of grantmakers by mobilizingand strengthening the work of knowledgeable, ethical and experienced philanthropyconsultantsPart think-tank and part service organization, NNCG provides a learning community and a forum foropen discussion among consultants dedicated to increasing philanthropy and deepening its impact.Through strategic partnerships with a host of grantmaker associations and others, NNCG is a growingresource for the philanthropic sector.Since its inception in 2006, NNCG has attracted a stellar group of charter members, establisheda Code of Ethical Conduct to which all members subscribe, and achieved a strong media profile. Our online searchable Directory of Consultants improves grantmaker access to seasoned, qualifiedand ethical professional consultants. With funding from the Lodestar Foundation and the David andLucile Packard Foundation, we have enhanced the design of our Directory of Consultants and websiteand are making the directory even more accessible to grantmakers through our partnerships withnational and regional philanthropic networks.Membership in NNCG has been tremendously helpful to me and my firm, and I think it will onlybecome more beneficial as we expand our national and regional convenings and teleconferences oncutting-edge topics, interface with grantmakers and media, and expand thought leadership activities. For example, I've communicated with colleagues to find resources and experts that proved invaluablefor projects we were working on; reached out to peers with complementary expertise that I hired assubcontractors; learned of important new studies and publications, and met talented professionals Inever would have come across on my own. I've also received referrals to important new clients andbeen able to "give back" by posting consultant RFPs.I encourage you to take a look at the roster of members and member benefits attached, and to visitour website at www.nncg.org. I know that NNCG, and the philanthropic sector in general, wouldbenefit from your membership in NNCG, and that you will find the connection with NNCG enrichingand rewarding. We hope that you will join us in this important venture.
