Bellisario College of nus Don RoyKing is an 13-time EmmyAward-winner andtelevision productionlegend.King earned theawards during histenure as director of“Saturday Night Live” fora decade and a half from2007 to 2021. King alsoearned four awards from the Directors Guildof America for his work on the show.King earned his bachelor’s degree in 1969.His career spans more than five decades andhis experience on live TV, from morning newsprograms to variety shows, makes him one ofthe most prolific directors of live shows in thehistory of the medium.Along with “Saturday Night Live,” hismix of directing credits includes “The MikeDouglas Show,” “Good Morning America,”“CBS This Morning,” “Survivor,” “The EarlyShow,” “Criss Angel Mindfreak” and “TheCBS Evening News with Dan Rather.”King, a consistently strong supporter of theBellisario College and Penn State, has beenhonored as both a Distinguished Alumnusand as an Alumni Fellow. He has regularlyvisited campus for special events through theyears and collaborated with students onspecial events, including a live sketchcomedy effort between the livestreamingdivision of CommAgency and a group ofstudent comedians this spring. He alsoconducted a live Zoom webinar for BellisarioCollege students in October 2020 and hosteda one-man show on campus in 2017.In addition to his work on television, King isthe creative director of Broadway Worldwide,which brings Broadway events to theatersand television.King, a native of Pitcairn, Pennsylvania,started his career at WPSX-TV in StateCollege before moving to other TV stations inthe state of Pennsylvania and, later,California. He initially hoped to be an actor,and his love of Broadway at least in partinfluenced his decision to live in New YorkCity.#PSUgrad
STUDENT MARSHALSCOLLEGEJade CamposADVERTISING/PUBLIC RELATIONSGrace PuyJade Campos, a consistent Dean’s Liststudent, complemented her journalismdegree with minors in French and mediastudies. A Schreyer Honors Scholar,she was selected to the PresidentialLeadership Academy and served as aBellisario College Fellow. Jade earned aBunton-Waller Fellowship to support herstudies, as well as numerous awards and scholarships.She served as editor-in-chief of The Daily Collegian, andwas a member of both CommAgency and CommRadio.Jade participated with the Blue Band as a member of thesilks throughout her time at the University. Her variousinternships included positions with WPSU Radio, thePittsburgh Post-Gazette and The Virginia Connection.Grace Puy, who achieved Dean’sList status every semester during herundergraduate career, earned numerousscholarships and awards for her academicaccomplishments. Along with herbachelor’s degree, she added a minor inrecreation, park and tourism managementand a certificate from the Smeal Collegeof Business in business fundamentals. Grace also served inleadership roles for the Student Programming Association,Opulence Drag Ambassadors, the Movin’ On musicfestival and Homecoming. She completed four internships,including positions with the Bryce Jordan Center inticketing operations and with Degy Entertainment as amember of the company’s virtual event staff.FILM PRODUCTIONZi YeJOURNALISMRachel RubinZi Ye was a consistent Dean’s Liststudent and completed an internshipwith the College of Arts and Architectureas a photographer and videographer.She also served as a photographer forCommAgency. She was part of a filmproduction team that earned an honorablemention for its work in 2021 and this yearshe served as director of photography for a senior film.Zi, who came to Penn State from China, also served asdirector of media and marketing for the Chinese StudentAssociation at Penn State Altoona, helping plan manycultural events on campus. In the fall she will begin hergraduate studies at the University of Southern California.Rachel Rubin, who achieved Dean’sList status every semester during herundergraduate career, completed a majorin digital/print journalism with a minorin history and education policy studies.She earned numerous scholarships andawards, and is a member of three honorsocieties — Kappa Tau Alpha, Phi Alpha Theta and Phi EtaSigma. She completed an internship with the College ofIST, worked as a marketing and communications specialistfor BMG Social, and was an investigative reporter for aresearch project at Hershey Medical Center focused ondiabetes prevention.MEDIA STUDIESMegan BunkeTELECOMMUNICATIONSAND MEDIA INDUSTRIESMichael SmedleyMegan Bunke was a consistent Dean’sList student who completed a doublemajor in media studies and psychology.Megan served as a teaching assistant fora psychology course and was selected asa member of Golden Key InternationalHonour Society and the Phi Beta KappaHonor Society. In 2021, she completedan internship in the human resources department of DotFoods. On campus she was a member and leader ofthe K-pop Music and Dance Club and a member of clubcheerleading. Along with hisbachelor’s degree, he earned a BFAin theatre design and minors in musictechnology and business law. He addeda certificate from the Smeal Collegeof Business.
