At thediocesan level, he currently serves as Diocesan Treasurer, a position in which he has served since he wasfirst elected in 2015.Clyde holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from UW-Madison, as well as a Master’s degree inEducational Administration. He did additional graduate study at UW-Whitewater in the areas of businessand school business administration. Capitelli previously served on Executive Council (2013-2016); currently he serves on the Board ofDirectors of the Cooperating Churches of Sussex and is social service agency, Sussex Outreach Services, anecumenical community service organization which assists individuals and families in need by operating afood pantry and assisting with payment of rent, utilities and other emergency necessities. He was recentlyappointed Dean of the Waukesha Convocation by Bishop Miller. Additionally, Fr. Steve serves as a volunteerspiritual director and confessor to students at Nashotah House seminary.Fr. Lewis ever wrote and being ahusband and dad.Joan Faull (Trinity, Mineral Point)Joan is an active member of Trinity, Mineral Point, where she is a life-long member, having been baptized,confirmed, and married in the parish! Over the years, Joan served in many capacities at Trinity, includingSenior and Junior Warden, vestry member, pastoral leader, and Sunday school teacher. Currently she is amember of the vestry and Altar Guild as well as serving as an acolyte and president of the Trinity Guild.Joan has represented the parish at diocesan convention as a lay deputy numerous times.In the Mineral Point community, Joan represents Trinity on the Graceland Cemetery Board, the LindenAmerican Legion Auxiliary, and the Linden and Mineral Point Historical Societies. She also volunteers at theSenior meal program (SUN). A retired elementary school teacher, Joan now substitute teaches as timepermits. She has been a member of the Southwest Library Board and chaired the Linden CommunityScholarship Committee.Joan and her husband of 52 years, Tom, have two children: Janean, who works at Lands’ End inDodgeville; and Dr. Thomas J., who works at St. Mary’s in Madison. In addition to her church andcommunity activities, Joan loves traveling, working in her flower garden, and visiting with friends.D’Arcy Becker (St. Andrew’s, Madison)D’Arcy Becker is an active member of (St. Andrew’s-Madison). She has served in many capacities there,including the Altar Guild, Children’s Ministry, Casserole Brigade, Counting Committee and Grounds/GardenCommittee.In addition, D’Arcy is a member of the 2019 Diocese Internal Audit Committee. She has extensiveexperience auditing small churches in the Eau Claire area during the period when she worked at UW-EauClaire.D’Arcy lives in Madison and works at UW-Whitewater, where she is Chair of the Department of Accounting.A CPA, D’Arcy has a BBA, MBA and PhD from UW-Madison; her main areas of teaching are auditing andforensic accounting.John N. Vogel, Ph.D. (Trinity, Wauwatosa)Vogel is an active member at Trinity, Wauwatosa, to which he has belonged since 1987. He is presently theparish Verger as well as a Lay Reader and Chalice Bearer. He served on the Vestry from 2013 to 2017. Hehad also served on the Trinity Vestry many years before, service that culminated in three years as SeniorWarden (1992-1994). Prior to Trinity, Vogel was a member of St. James, Milwaukee, where he had servedon the Vestry and as Junior Warden. On the diocesan level, he served for several years as a member of theCamp Webb Board. He also served on the Board of Visitors of Nashotah House. The seminary, founded in1842, has a long and proud history that well qualified it for listing on the National Register of HistoricPlaces. Vogel was pleased to undertake the effort that culminated with the seminary’s recent listing on theNational Register.Additionally, was Vogel a member of the Board of Directors for Preservation Action (1994-2002), a nationalorganization that works with the National Trust for Historic Preservation to lobby Congress on behalf of2

history and preservation-related causes. Accordingly, he made annual trips to Washington to meetlegislators and their staffs and argue on behalf of our country’s history.Vogel has been married to his wife, Beth, for 44 years and has two children (David, 37, and Leah, 35), aswell as one granddaughter. He earned in 1979 his Master’s Degree from the University of WisconsinMilwaukee, where his thesis addressed the history of the Episcopal Church in Wisconsin prior to 1848. Hesubsequently earned in 1989 his Doctorate (American History) from Marquette University. He servedMarquette as a Visiting Assistant Professor in History in the early 1990s, after which he was as a sometimeAdjunct Associate Professor in Marquette’s School of Engineering. More particularly, he is the President andSenior Historian at Heritage Research, Ltd., a historical and environmental consulting firm that heestablished in 1992.General ConventionFOUR clergy and FOUR lay persons to be elected to serve at 2021 General ConventionThe Very Rev. Kevin Carroll (All Saints’ Cathedral, Milwaukee)The Very Rev. Kevin Carroll, dean of All Saints’ Cathedral, was a deputy to the 2018 General Conventionand is seeking re-election to serve at the 2021 General Convention. He has served in numerous capacitiesat the parish and diocesan level since coming to the diocese in 1992, including the following: numerous laypositions including junior warden, senior warden and parish treasurer. Since ordination he has served as anassistant priest at St. Mark’s, Milwaukee, WI; priest-in-charge at St. James’-West Bend, WI; and currentlyserves as the dean at the cathedral. Father Carroll has served on the Bishop’s task force to examine therole of the Diocesan Convention; as co-chair of the planning committee for the 2004 and 2006 conventions;has received training as part of the diocese’s sexual misconduct response team; trained in interim ministry;and is a graduate of the Congregational Development Institute being offered by the diocese. Kevin is a pastmember of the Commission for Mission and Development. He has served on the Executive Council and hasserved as president of the Standing Committee.He brings with him the temperament to deal fairly with people who express a broad range of opinions. Heputs a great deal of stock in the Anglican concept of the via media; and firmly believes that all voices mustbe heard in the myriad of conversations that bind the life of the church together.Kevin has been married for 24 years to Jane Carroll. They have two children Madeline, 22; and Patrick, 19.The Rev. Ian Burch (St. Mark’s, Milwaukee)The Rev. Ian Burch serves as Rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Milwaukee. St. Mark’s is a thrivingparish on the east side of the city and has experienced financial, numerical, and spiritual growth for each ofthe four years that Ian has been Rector. Fr. Burch serves as the Chairperson of the Commission on Ministryfor the diocese and is a member of the Board of the All Saints’ Cathedral Corporation, as well as a co-leaderfor the diocesan Fresh Start program.Before coming to the Diocese of Milwaukee, Fr. Burch served as the Associate Rector of St. Chrysostom’sEpiscopal Church in the Diocese of Chicago. Earlier in his career, he served as a Board Certified Chaplain inthe Rush University Medical health system for seven years. Fr. Burch has a passion for developing leadersfor the church--both lay and ordained--as well as a keen interest in the way that the health of a leader candirectly affect the systemic health of an organization. He’ll be teaching a cohort-based course for youngleaders called Living Well; Leading Well through Living Compass beginning this Spring.Fr. Burch would like to bring his passion for developing leaders and church growth to General Convention aswell as bring back some of the energy from that gathering to our diocese. When not doing church-y things,Fr. Burch plays the piano (poorly), the violin (a bit better), and hangs out with his husband (Travis) and dog(Captain Fantastic).The Rev. Miranda Hassett (St. Dunstan’s, Madison)Miranda is the Rector of St. Dunstan’s Church in Madison, WI, where she has served for over eight years.Rev. Miranda is currently Co-Chair of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission and Dean of the West convocation.She served for six years on the Commission on Mission and Development for the Diocese of Milwaukee, andvalued that opportunity to walk with and learn from parishes that are struggling, thriving, and everything inbetween. She was also on the Board of St. Francis House Episcopal Campus Ministry at the University ofWisconsin-Madison for five years, and convenes the Frazer Scholarship Committee. She traveled to Tanzaniawith Bishop Miller and other members of the Diocese in 2013 as part of our Newala Companion Diocesepartnership. From 2014 - 2016, Rev. Miranda participated in the Missional Leadership Cohort, a program ofLuther Seminary for early-career Episcopal clergy with the potential to help their parishes undertakeadaptive change to flourish in the landscape of 21st century faith. In 2018 Rev. Miranda and St. Dunstan’s3

received a Clergy Renewal sabbatical grant for Rev. Miranda to explore how to engage children more fully inEpiscopal worship.Rev. Miranda served as a Deputy for the Diocese of Milwaukee at the 2015 General Convention of theEpiscopal Church, and an Alternate Deputy in 2018. On both occasions, she found it fascinating andinspiring to watch the Church at work, grappling with the big issues facing us within and without. Miranda’sdesire to serve as a General Convention deputy stems from her abiding interest in our national church andits global context, dating back to her doctoral work on conflicts within the Anglican Communion.Miranda is a lifelong Episcopalian who was active in diocesan and provincial youth and young adult ministryas a high school and college student in Indiana. She attended seminary at Duke University (Durham, NC) andthe Episcopal Divinity School (Cambridge, MA). Her Masters of Divinity work focused on ContemporarySociety, the role, challenges, and calls of the Church in the modern world. Miranda lives in Madison withher husband Phil and their children Griffin (14) and Iona (9).The Rev. Nancy Hodge (St. Matthias, Waukesha)I have been a life- long member of the Diocese of Milwaukee. I grew up at Trinity, Wauwatosa being almostliterally born there one Sunday morning in August of 1955. My mother took communion and went homepicked up her bag and went to St. Joe’s hospital. I was baptized and confirmed there as well. I was anactive member of the youth group at Trinity until I left for college. After returning to Wisconsin in 1979and moving to Waukesha in 1981 I became a member at St. Matthias Waukesha. At St. Matthias I wasgreeted by a familiar face in Fr. Russ Jacobus who knew me from his time at Trinity. At St. Matthias Ibecame involved with coordinating the Loaves and Fishes participation of the parish, assisting with nurseryduty, participating in Bible Study. I also served on vestry and was a lay delegate to diocesan convention.But most importantly it was where I heard, explored, and answered my call to the diaconate. I wasordained by Bishop Miller on June 5, 2004 and have served this diocese and Bishop faithfully since then. Ihave had the blessing to be assigned at St, John the Divine in Burlington under Joanne Skidmore and nowwith David Simmons at St. Matthias, Waukesha.I have had a variety of informative and challenging experiences outside the church community as well. Iserved as an alderman in the City of Waukesha for six years and found myself always attracted andpassionate about social justice issues. I worked with Equal Opportunities Commission, Fair Housing andCommunity Development Block grant committees. I was elected as Common Council President by my peersand held that position as well. While serving in Burlington I was offered and accepted the position ofExecutive Director of The Transitional Living Center, a homeless shelter that served primarily ruralhomeless. I continue to have a passion for the homeless but my involvement is more passive at this time.Currently I am working as a hospice Chaplain for Heartland Hospice in Racine, Kenosha, and Walworthcounties. I have been with Heartland almost 8 years now. I have walked, sat, cried and rejoiced with thedying and their families and have been blessed and humbled many times now. It is a blessing and aprivilege to be part of that journey. When I retire from hospice it is my hope to act as anEmergency/Disaster Chaplain and respond in crisis situations. I hope to participate in training for thatsometime in the next year. I have always been a learner and a person who takes on challenges. I served asan EFM mentor, completed five units of Clinical Pastoral Education, CDI training and earned my Masters inMinistry at Nashotah House.My husband Art and I have been married 42 years, raised 2 sons, and are proud grandparents of 8grandchildren. We enjoy sailing, movies, the Brewers, and our backyard.The Rev. Margaret “Marge” Kiss (St. Thomas of Canterbury, Greendale)As an active member of St. Luke’s in Bay View, the parish that called her to ordination, Marge participatedin governance at the parish level by serving on the vestry for three years and twice representing the parishas delegate to the diocesan convention. She was instrumental in forming their Outreach Committee andserved on the Altar Guild, as a member of the Choir, as an acolyte, a Lay Eucharistic Minister and did homevisits.Prior to her ordination to the diaconate in 2010, Marge Kiss was an active member of St. Luke’s, Bay View,where she served on the vestry, as a lay delegate to diocesan convention, and as a member of the AltarGuild and choir, as well as doing home visits as a Lay Eucharistic Minister. On the diocesan level, she hasparticipated in diocesan governance by serving as the recorder of minutes for Executive Council for somethirteen years and more recently as Executive Secretary of the Diocese of Milwaukee. Marge records theminutes of Diocesan Convention and has held this role for a dozen years, also actively participating in theplanning and execution of our Diocesan Conventions. As a member of the Deacons Council, she helps planthe annual retreat for diocesan deacons.This year, Marge joined the diocesan staff as Accounting Operations Assistant, working part-time in theFinance Office at Nicholson House.Marge’s first career was in education, as a teacher for 20 years and a principal for 5 years. Her secondcareer was with Heritage Title Services, working as a title examiner as well as issuing final policies.4

Marge represented the diocese at the 2018 General Convention, where she served on the committeeresponsible for recording the official minutes of the proceedings.Marge would be a positive addition to the diocese’s delegation to the 2021 General Convention. In additionto her strong background and recent experience in governance at the parish and diocesan levels, she bringsexceptional organizational and communication skills.Perhaps most importantly, Marge is able both to encourage and value the expression of diverse viewpoints.The Rev. She has served as convener of ClergyDay/Retreat committee promoting clergy formation. Before coming to the Diocese of Milwaukee, in theDiocese of South Dakota, Rev. Kathy was a deputy to General Convention 2006-2015 and served on thediocese’s youth ministry committee. At General Convention, she was part of a group that provided thechildren’s program and was coordinator of Worship with Children during worship. Rev. Kathy served on theChurch Center working group that was Episcopal Council on Christian Education (ECCE) and is now known asForma.Rev. Kathy has served as convener of Janesville Women Clergy group and the spiritual advisor to JanesvilleCROP Walk committee.Rev. Kathy is currently a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) candidate in Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary in St.Paul, Minnesota. She received her MDiv from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas, her MAT fromSt. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota and her BS from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.Rev. Kathy’s spouse is Rick Lutes; they have two adult children, Tom and Willie.The Rev. Scott Seefeldt (Zion, Oconomowoc)The Rev. Scott Allen Seefeldt has been vicar of Zion, Oconomowoc since 2016, focused on congregationalredevelopment. Prior to that he was the rector of Trinity, Baraboo for seven years and curate at St.Michael’s, Racine for two. He currently serves on diocesan Executive Council in an elected capacity. Hepreviously served for five years on the Commission on Ministry, two years as president. Father Scott’searlier background is in college ministry and music education. When not doing church stuff, Scott likes toride bicycles, camp and hike, do a spot of gardening, and tinker on antique automobiles.Father Scott has been married to Stephanie, a church musician and organist, for twenty years. They havefour children: one grown, two in high school, and one in middle school. Scott and Stephanie also have twoaging poodles: Kemper and Rufus.The Rev. David Simmons (St. Matthias, Waukesha)The Rev. David Simmons has served as Rector of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Waukesha since 2008. Hehas a passion for fostering collaboration and seeking innovative ways to share the Gospel. He serves as theDiocesan Ecumenical Officer, and has served as the President of the Standing Committee and as a memberof Executive Council. He has served as an alternate General Convention deputy in 2012, 2015 and 2018. Aleader in ecumenical and interfaith issues, he serves as National President of Episcopal Diocesan Ecumenicaland Interfaith Officers (EDEIO.org), represents the Episcopal Church to the National Council of Churches, is5

the Chair Emeritus of the National Workshop on Christian Unity, and represents the diocese as the Vicechair of the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee and with the Wisconsin Council of Churches.David serves the greater community of Waukesha as a board member of the Housing Action Coalition ofWaukesha County, as a Chief Election Inspector and as a percussion instructor at Waukesha West HighSchool.St Matthias has become a center of leadership around issues of homelessness and low-income housing and isengaged in an active partnership with Hebron House of Hospitality, which is headquartered at the church.David is married to his wife Micky, and has two children, Brendan and Brigid. His hobbies include Kendo,music composition, and board games.Janet Finn (Holy Trinity, Prairie du Chien)Janet Finn is an active member of Holy Trinity, Prairie du Chien where she has belonged for 50 years. Shehas served the parish in many capacities, including organist, altar guild president, church school teacher,lay Eucharistic minister, vestry clerk, Sr. Warden (12 years), delegate to Committee to Elect a Bishop(2003), lay deputy to diocesan convention (since 1988), search committee chair, CDI participant, memberof diocesan Strategic Planning Committee, member of Canon 28 Task Force (currently).Additionally, Janet is actively involved with: Wisconsin State Historical Society, serving as a guide andcuratorial cleaner; Prairie du Chien Historical Society, local hospital auxiliary; local school board (memberfor 12 years); American Cancer Society Relay for Life (5 years as chair); and the local performing artsboard. Janet has also hosted foreign exchange students and has been active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.A retired middle school science teacher (20 years), Janet has been married to Theodore Finn, retired 3Mchemical engineer, for 52 years; she has three married daughters and eight grandchildren. She and herhusband have resided in Prairie du Chien for 48 years. Janet attended General Convention in 2012, 2015and 2018 and seeks the nomination for alternate Lay Deputy to the 2018 General Convention, feeling calledby the Holy Spirit to once more represent the Diocese of Milwaukee at General Convention.Sharon Henes (St. Dunstan’s, Madison)Sharon Henes is an active member of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church. She currently serves in a variety ofcapacities, including Vestry member, Formation Chair, Sunday School teacher, Youth Group leader, acolytecoordinator, Lay Eucharistic Minister and delegate to Diocesan Convention. She is a Saint Francis HouseBoard member and a member of the Title IV Disciplinary Board. Sharon attended the 2018 GeneralConvention as an alternate lay deputy. At the national level, she is appointed to the Court of Appeals.Sharon is an administrative rules coordinator and has written administrative code/law for nine years. Inaddition, she monitors legislation and testifies at legislative committee hearings. Prior to her currentposition, for 13 years, she was a paralegal assisting in license disciplinary prosecutions for health careprofessionals. Sharon keeps apprised of the issues impacting the church on local and national levels. She isa member of Forma and has attended several conferences.Sharon has been married to Mike for 30 years. They have a son, Kendrick, a high school teacher, who liveswith his wife and their two children in Connecticut and a daughter, Amanda, who is pursuing a master’sdegree in biblical studies and serves on the Episcopal Church’s Task Force on Ministry to Individuals withMental Illness.Peter Larson (St. Paul’s, Milwaukee)It is a great privilege and an uplifting spiritual experience to partake of the General Convention of theEpiscopal Church. If elected as a Deputy to the 2021 General Convention, Peter will work to bring theexperience and resources to the Milwaukee Diocese and our Parishes.Peter is an active member of St. Paul’s, serving as Stewardship Chair for several years, on St. Paul’s andChrist Church’s Discernment Committees, and as a Vacation Bible School Teacher. Peter completedSewanee’s Education for Ministry (EfM) program. In previous Churches in Minneapolis and Chicago, Peterserved on the equivalent of the Vestry (10 years), as Senior Warden (5 terms), and as a Sunday School andVacation Bible School Teacher (15 years). He has been a delegate to the Diocesan Convention, was thealternate Lay Deputy to the 2015 General Convention, and was a Deputy to the 2018 General Convention.He is serving his second term on the Diocesan Executive Council.Peter is retired from his career in wealth management, in which he held professional and executivepositions for major banking firms. He is skilled at strategy development and implementation, sales andpresentation coaching, and in wealth planning for individuals and organizations. Peter has served on boardsof several civic organizations, including the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center, Grass Roots North Shore,and the Columbia St. Mary’s Community Benefit and Advisory Councils. He is a Docent at the Milwaukee ArtMuseum where he co-chairs the Continuing Education Council. He graduated, cum laude, from WilliamsCollege, and, with honors, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He holds the6

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.
