HONOLULU EDITIONMay 2012 Vol. 4, No. 5President's MessageAloha,As I reflect on the Fun – Fresh – Present theme, it’s exhilarating to witness EWI Honolululiving the theme! The energy present is fun. Active networking prior to Chapter meetings, committee meetings, the Jazz it Up event, and most recently the EWISP Judges interviewcreates this energy.Fresh EWI branding promotes the logo and generates interest. Signage at meetings andevents supplement the fresh outlook each of you brings to EWI Honolulu. To theRepresentatives that wear their EWI pin or pendant .THANK YOU! You are activelymarketing the EWI brand.50 people were present to absorb Darryl Turner’s presentation on April 12, 2012. Thoughts from his nineprinciples on uncommon sense included: It’s better to be the horsepower versus the cargo.Over reliance equals under achievement. No news is good news.Never medicate what should be amputated.Element of Surprise! It was impressive to converse with individuals a few days after the meeting and hear what each one personallytook from Darryl Turner’s talk. Some people acted on “Just Do it, now”! If you're thinking, "What were theremaining principles?", connect with Representatives that were present and exchange information. Inspirationand motivation are powerful benefits of EWI. It’s amazing what we’ve done together in a relatively shortperiod. In the month of May, mothers are honored with a day. EWI honors the EWISP recipients. Honor yourself forthe individual you are and the person you are evolving to be.With gratitude for the opportunity to lead,2011-2012 President, EWI Honolulu1
