ISO 9001:2015has arrived.International Organization for Standardization haspublished one of the most awaited upgrade to the mostpopular quality management system with ISO 9001:2008revised as ISO 9001:2015. New ISO 9001:2015 version ofQMS makes a holistic change to way a quality managementsystem is planned, implemented, maintained and improved.It brings structural changes with a 10 clause standard asper Annex SL to have a uniform look and feel of all ISOstandards and standardization of standards.New ISO 9001:2015 standard ensures strategic alignmentbetween QMS, your organization and context of anorganization. All organizations certified to ISO9001:2008 standard need to upgrade toISO 9001:2015 by September 2018. ISO 9001:2008 certified organisationswill need to identify gaps, train employees,establish new processes / change existingprocesses to address and implement thenew requirements. ISO 9001:2008 certified organisationsshould start preparing for the changesand implement an action plan to transitionto the new standard as soon as possible. Risk based thinking is in with identification of risk &opportunities.10. Knowledge management is in with indirect reference toknowledge required being identified and madeavailable.11.
