HOW DOES DUAL ENROLLMENT BENEFIT MY STUDENT?Per Section 1007.27(1) of the Florida Statutes, the dual enrollment program is theenrollment of eligible secondary student or home education student in a postsecondarycourse creditable toward 1) high school completion and 2) a career certificate or andassociate or baccalaureate degree. A student who is enrolled in postsecondary instructionthat is not creditable toward a high school diploma may not be classified as a dualenrollment student.Dual enrollment is also an opportunity for students to become familiar with the collegeexperience here at TCC. ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE Summer PERT: June 19, 2019 at 2:00-4:30 p.m. in the library. You may only take an express session if TCC removes you from a class without yourknowledge. English I and II are requirements for ENC 1101/1102. 9th and 10th graders must pass all parts of the PERT/ACT/SAT to qualify. Students with PERT scores, or ACT/SAT equivalents, below 123 are limited to 12credit hours. Students must take MAT 1033 and pass with a C or better, or receive acollege ready math score on either PERT/ACT/SAT prior to accumulation of 12hours to proceed with dual enrollment.

TALONTED EAGLES EXPERIENCEMANDATORY WORKSHOP ALL dual enrolled students must register for and complete the TALONTEDEAGLES EXPERIENCE workshop. Students will register for the workshop whenregistering for courses and are only required to complete the workshop once.This workshop is not credit earning and will not count toward degreecompletion. The workshop can be completed in one or multiple sessions. HOW DOES MY STUDENT APPLY? Student must complete the TCC Online Application for Dual Enrollment ntention (do not completeAssociate in Arts Degree (AA) application – will prolong process) Meet with Ms. Peddie to determine courses needed for high school graduationrequirements Submit Permission to Register form High school transcript (include unweighted high school gpa) Test scores (new students, or as needed due to expired scores) Forms must be signed by Ms. Peddie

HOW TO REGISTER FOR COURSES Sign in to TCC Eaglenet using your TCC username and password. Click “Registration" located at the top left of the page. Choose “Add/Drop“ from the drop down. Choose the appropriate term using the drop-down arrow and then click Select Term. Scroll down to the class search screen and type in the Course ID and Number. Click the "Search Now" button to see all of the available classes. To add a class, click the Reference Number (RefNum) button located to the left of theCourse ID. After adding all of your classes, click the “Update" button.If there are no error messages, click the "View/Print Schedule and Fees" button.Print a copy of your schedule for Ms. Peddie & Ms. Britt.

COURSES Dual enrolled students may not take developmental education, non-credit, or physicaleducation courses (even if parent wants to pay for courses) Some courses have prerequisites (see Catalog for details) Courses are greatly determined by YOUR plan!!!Students who do not know what they want to study in college should consult with anacademic advisor or consider focusing on completing general educationrequirementsFlorida dual enrollment college credit will transfer to any Florida public college oruniversity offering the Statewide Course Numbering System course number, andmust be treated as though taken at the receiving institution. However, if students donot attend the same college or university where they earned dual enrollment credit,the application of transfer credit to general education, prerequisite, and degreeprograms may vary at the receiving institution.

ADDING & DROPPING COURSES ALL paperwork must be submitted on or prior to dual enrollment deadline. Only current dual enrolled students may adjust courses during respectivetime frames. ALL adjustments must be approved by high school advisor. Always refer to academic calendar for specific dates. Guidelines: Last day to ADD: 2nd of classes – submit Course Adjustment Form Last day to Drop: 5th day of classes – submit Course Adjustment Form Last day to Withdraw: see Academic Calendar (be aware of school/district policyconcerning withdrawals)

CONTINUING ELIGIBILITY Per articulation agreement: Students must maintain: TCC cumulative gpa of 2.0 (3 – 11 credit hours) TCC cumulative gpa of 3.0 (12 – 15 credit hours) Successful completion rate of 75% If the student drops below the required 2.0 grade point average or completion is below 75%, he/shewill be given a one semester grace period. If student withdraws during this time, dual enrollmenteligibility is forfeited. LENGTH OF DUAL ENROLLMENT Per articulation agreement: Maximum of 3 semesters grade level, including summers (June Expressonly); graduating seniors may not take summer courses through dualenrollment Maximum of 6 semesters as a dual enrolled student to includesummers. Final dual enrollment semester will be spring semester of senior yearAfter eligibility expires, students must provide proof of high schoolgraduation in order to matriculate to degree-seeking status at TCC ALL dual enrolled students are coded as Out of State – do not submit parentinformation to prove residency (this will be done upon high school graduation ifthe student chooses to attend TCC)

FAMILY EDUCATION RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT Commonly known as FERPA Establishes two basic rights for your student: right to inspect his or her education recordright to expect TCC will not disclose information from the student’seducational record (grades, attendance, etc.) without his or herwritten consent only directory information (name, major, etc.) that is already public maybe freely disclosed student must sign Permission to Release Form in presence ofcollege staff for someone other than student to gain access tostudent’s record ALL college students have rights under FERPA, even those whoparticipate in dual enrollment

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES (1) It is the student’s responsibility to: know TCC student id number and login information (take a picture ofinformation when completed with application) register for courses each semester, unless course is taught on high schoolcampus (must register prior to deadline; VR hold placed on accounts afterdeadline) courses taught on high school campuses will be registered by dual enrollmentcoordinator after deadline contact school guidance counselor concerning textbooks each semester submit official exam scores for credit (AP, IB, AICE, CLEP), if applicable meet with high school guidance counselor to ensure high school graduationrequirements are being met.
