Initial Folder Creation and ImplementationThe purpose of this document is to guide the user through the creation and installation of the standardedition Pilot folder (PILOT) containing the standard edition presetting and used during theimplementation phase. The X3 reference folder included on the Standard Edition DVD is the startingpoint for creating such folder.Folder CreationAfter installing and patching the latest version of Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition 1.Log into the X3 Reference folder as the ADMIN user.2. Go to Parameters / General Parameters / Folders (GESADS).3. Select the X3 folder from the left-list. This folder was imported into the Sage X3 Solution as partof the initial software installation.4. In the Folder field, overwrite X3 with PILOT and press Tab. This will begin to modify the recordand put the function into Create mode.5. Enter ‘PILOT Folder’ as the Name.June 2012 SagePage 3 of 10

General Tab6. Be sure to leave the Reference folder as X3.7. Enter X3 as the Copy Folder.8. The Start Date is the date of the first financial transaction in the system. (Beware, you shouldinclude the date of any migrated data!)9. The Test Folder option should be cleared since this folder will be used as a basis of a productionfolder.10. The Specific Folder option should be off because each folder (X3 and Production folder) will bepatched (either for standard patch, specific patch and add-ons).June 2012 SagePage 4 of 10

Initialization tab11. On the Initialization tab, set everything in the Transaction Validation and Copy Data tables toYes to inherit the presetting contained in the X3 folder.12. Delete all languages other than “ENG”, “FRA” (if needed), and any additionally purchasedlanguages from the Languages table.June 2012 SagePage 5 of 10

Modifications tab13. On the Modifications tab, be sure to set the NA Add-on activity codes Active field based onwhat the customer has purchased. Click the Create button to create the new folder. This Screenmay be blank in the Standard Edition.14. At the Copy Confirmation prompt, click Yes.June 2012 SagePage 6 of 10

15. Click the Validation button to begin the folder’s table creation and data copy.16. Confirm that the new PILOT folder is in the Folder Validation list and click OK.June 2012 SagePage 7 of 10

18. The new PILOT folders dictionary will update. This process may take anywhere from 15-45minutes depending on the speed of the solution.19. Once the folder Validation has completed, a log file will appear. Click End to close the file andexit out of the X3 Reference folder.June 2012 SagePage 8 of 10

Print Server20. Launch the Sage Console and select the Print Servers tab. Select the solution from thePublications tab and check the new PILOT folder. Click the Apply button to publish the folderso that it can utilize the Print Server.21.June 2012 SagePage 9 of 10

Web Server22. Select the Web Servers tab. Select the solution from the Publications tab and check the newPILOT folder. Click Apply to publish this folder to the web. Once this has been completed, exitout of the Sage Console.23.24. This clean PILOT folder is now available to users to enter data for the implementation of thetarget solution that will be installed at the customer location.iPlease ignore the designation of DSS as the folder name in the screen shots and instead use PILOT or whateveryou wish to call your Pilot folder.June 2012 SagePage 10 of 10
