ArtArt 8: (Semester Long) Students will build on and learn new artmediums techniques through drawing,painting, mixed media, digital arts, andceramicsArt 8-Advanced 3-D (Semester Long) Students will learn to create 3-D projectsusing clay and other mediums Students will be exposed to different stylesof sculpture techniquesArt 8-Drawing & Painting (Semester Long) Students will further their skills in drawing,painting, and other 2D techniques Designed for students who want to grow asartists

DramaDrama 8: Semester long This class is a follow-up to 6th & 7th gradedrama Students will be exposed to public speaking& “improv” Heavy memorization & writing is requiredDrama Production 8 (Prior Experience isrequired); Semester Long Students must have taken Drama previously Students will go into depth by analyzingcharacters and evaluating plays at Prairie Students are required to participate in afterschool plays through acting, tech and/orhouse management

STEAM Explorations 8 Semester long course Students will learn and actively use the Engineering Design Process tobring designs to life Students will be exposed to basic software, tools, and equipmentfound at the foundation of any CTE STEM (College & TechnicalEducation, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Students will use tools such as CAD (computer-aided design), 3Dprinting, software design, Arduinos, coding, and other tools tomanufacture new products

Physical Education &HealthPhysical Education-Team Sports 8-(Semester Long)Students will participate in team sports such as: Flag Football, Soccer,Softball, Basketball, Volleyball, Team Handball, Lacrosse, & Speed BallPhysical Education- Individual Sports 8-(Semester Long) Students will participate in individual sports such as: Pickleball,Badminton, Ultimate Frisbee, Rock Climbing, Juggling, Softball, Handball,and Team HandballSurvival 8-(Semester Long) Students will learn how to read and create topographical maps, use acompass, find bearing, find markers and paceHealth 8-(Semester Long) Students will learn about physical, mental/emotional and social health.This class motivates students to improve and maintain their health,prevent disease, and reduce risky behaviors.

Band & OrchestraBand 8 (Beginning) Year long Students will learn to read music and play a flute, clarinet, trumpet, french horn,trombone, euphonium, or tuba. Students will perform at evening concertsBand III (Minimum One Year of Experience) Year Long (Mr. Brindle’s signature required): Students will continue their instrument from Band 7 or Band II. Students will performat evening concertsStrings 8 (Beginning Orchestra): Year long Students will learn to read music and play a violin, viola, cello, or bass.
