Brown, MD, is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, Cullen Eye Institute, BaylorCollege of Medicine and vice-chair for research at the Blanton Eye Institute, HoustonMethodist Hospital. He is the Director of Clinical Research at the Greater Houston RetinaResearch Center and in private practice at Retina Consultants of Houston. Dr. Browngraduated from Baylor College of Medicine with highest honors and completedophthalmology and retina training at the University of Iowa where he was a Thomas HeedFellow, a Hermann Knapp Fellow, and was awarded the Ron Michels Fellowship awardpresented to the top retinal surgery fellow in the US.Dr Brown’s research and clinical interests are focused on macular surgery, AMD, genetherapy, retinal vascular disease, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Brown is an elected memberof the Macula Society and the Retina Society and he directs one of the largest clinical trialcenters for retinal disease in the US. Dr. Brown’s honors include the American Academy ofOphthalmology Honor Award in 2000, the AAO Senior Honor Award in 2014, andcontinuous election as one of the “Best Doctors in America” 2007 -2017. He has publishedand written over 400 national meeting presentations, abstracts, and scientific papersincluding many of the primary papers establishing the use of anti-VEGF agents for AMD,retinal vein occlusions, and diabetic retinopathy.Thomas Oetting, MD, MS CataractRudy & Margaret Perez Professor of Ophthalmology, Director of Ophthalmology,Residency Program, Chief of Ophthalmology and Deputy Director for Surgery,University of Iowa, Chief of Eye Service & Deputy Director of Surgery Service, VAMedical Center, Iowa City, IowaDr. Oetting studied electrical engineering on an Air Force ROTC scholarship and thenserved on active duty and in the reserves for several years. Dr. Oetting received a MS inbiomedical engineering and his MD at Duke University. He did his ophthalmology residencyat the University of Iowa. He spent a brief time in private practice before returning to thefaculty at the University of Iowa. Dr. Oetting is currently a Clinical Professor ofOphthalmology and the Residency Program Director. He serves as Chief of Ophthalmologyand Deputy Director for Surgery at the Iowa City VAMC.Dr. Oetting just completed a term as an at large member of the American Academy ofOphthalmology (AAO) Board of Trustees. Dr. Oetting won the 2017 President and ProvostAward for Teaching Excellence at the University of Iowa. He has won the ophthalmologyResident Teaching Award at the University of Iowa 5 times and has staffed over 10,000resident cataract cases.

Stoner Professor of Ophthalmology, Professor of Ophthalmology andNeurology, Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GeorgiaValérie Biousse, MD, is a professor in the section of neuro-ophthalmology at the EmoryEye Center and in the department of neurology, Emory School of Medicine.Dr. Biousse is a fellow of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and of theFrench Society of Neurology and a member of the American Neurological Association, andmultiple other national and international societies, including the American Academies ofOphthalmology and Neurology. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of NeuroOphthalmology. She currently also serves on the board of directors as President Elect ofthe North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society. She has more than 350 publications,including scientific articles, book chapters and books, including the primary textbook NeuroOphthalmology and Walsh & Hoyt’s Clinical Neuro-Ophthalmology, 6th Edition, 2005.Sunita Radhakrishnan, MD GlaucomaAssociate, Glaucoma Center of San Francisco, Research Director, GlaucomaResearch and Education Group, San Francisco, CaliforniaAfter completing medical school in India, Dr. Radhakrishnan completed two ophthalmologyresidencies at the Chennai Medical College, India and at the Cole Eye Institute, ClevelandClinic in Cleveland, OH. She then completed a clinical glaucoma fellowship at the WilmerEye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore MD, and joined the Glaucoma Center ofSan Francisco in 2007 where she specializes in the medical and surgical management ofglaucoma. Her research interests include imaging of the anterior chamber angle and opticnerve, angle-closure glaucoma, and OCT technology. As Research Director of theGlaucoma Research & Education Group, she provides guidance to Shaffer glaucomafellows. Dr. Radhakrishnan is involved in patient education through her work as Editor-inChief of Gleams, a newsletter published by the Glaucoma Research Foundation.Justin Leitenberger, MD DermatologyAssistant Professor, Department of Dermatology, Director, High-Risk Non-MelanomaSkin Cancer Clinic, Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology, OregonHealth & Science University, Portland, OregonDr. Leitenberger specializes in all aspects of surgical dermatology with special interests inMohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, and management of skin cancer inhigh-risk patients. He is an assistant professor of dermatology and surgery, co-director ofDermatologic Surgery, and co-director of the High-Risk Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer Clinicat OHSU. Dr. Leitenberger also performs laser and cosmetic surgery, including minimallyinvasive laser skin resurfacing as well as injectable fillers and neurotoxins. After completingmedical school at the University of Texas Medical School where he received the DorisDuke Clinical Research Fellowship Award, he completed a residency in dermatology and afellowship in dermatologic surgery at OHSU.
