The American LegionDepartment of VirginiaMembership Reportas of November 18th, 2015There will be no Membership Report sent Thanksgiving Week. Thenext membership report will be transmitted on Thursday,December 3rd, 2015TO ALL MEMBERS:On Thanksgiving Day all branchesof the military prepare anincredible feast on base. It’s notfree, however it is usually veryinexpensive compared to dining offbase in a restaurant and for thoseService Members who have nofamily or friends to celebrate with it’sthe perfect place to feel athome. Veterans can also signguests in to enjoy the meal withthem. According to recent military regulations, Thanksgiving is considered a “specialmeal’ and open to retired military personnel/veterans when a dining facility does notexceed 100 percent utilization rate. This is a wonderful opportunity for local posts whoare having a Thanksgiving Meal to invite local area active duty members to the post for agreat meal.Your American Legion Post Home – Every year many AmericanLegion Posts prepare Thanksgiving meals for members, guestsand area veterans. This provides an excellent opportunity tosocialize with fellow veterans in the community, and to engageyour post members in the good works of the American Legion. The camaraderie alone can boost anyone’s spirits during theThanksgiving holiday.REMEMBER – WE ALL KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS ELIGIBLE FORMEMBERSHIP EITHER AT WORK, AT ONE OF OUREXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES OR IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.JUST ASK – MEMBERSHIP IS ALL OF OUR RESPONSIBILITY!Please mark your calendars and plan on attending the 2016 Departmentof Virginia Spring Conference that will be held from March 11th through
