Then, slowly, the shadowdescended, falling back down to earth, swallowed by theevening’s exquisite stillness.I had promised Jerry an intuitive reading, and was looking forwardto the opportunity to help him. So the next morning we headeddown to the beach before the family woke up. The summer daywas a typical one for the Oregon Coast: cold, wet and windy. I waswrapped in my Columbia fleece, wool hat and flip-flops and araincoat.“She was sharing the evening with us last night on the beach withthe fire. I sure felt her, did you?” I was getting an awareness of theprevious night and the moon, with a feeling about falling back toEarth. “She is communicating something about the lanterns yousaw.”In my imagination she expressed the idea she had joined us thenight before. Because I had turned in early, I missed the roguelantern’s adventure, so I mistakenly thought she was telling meonly that.“She keeps showing me the moon, hmmm, and the lanterns. Didthe two of you share a significant memory that included Chineselanterns?”“No.” Jerry wanted to make my story fit; he has a generous heart,which is one of the reasons I adore him.I was hearing, seeing and feeling the message, but translatingbetween the two worlds can be tricky sometimes. The languageof the spirit world presents itself in symbols that need to bedecoded, not unlike a dream.
