Dear Foursquare Family,As we look back over these four years of being commissioned, transformed, restored and now compelled by Jesus, the passion behind the mission of theFoursquare Church is clear. We desire to see people following Christ, beingchanged into his image, and living out his mission. In 2019, that passion resulted in 103,032 people making the decision to followJesus through Foursquare ministry in the U.S. with an added 2,971 at camps. Therewere 13,399 reported water baptisms and 10,228 Holy Spirit baptisms. Wecelebrate 26 different language groups self-identified in Foursquare churches inthe U.S. as the world is at home in our neighborhoods. There were 143 women and 187 men who received their minister credential lastyear, which is 85 more than the previous year. Of these 330 leaders 166 wereunder the age of 40. As we look to the future need this is an encouraging sign asit is almost 40 more in the same demographic than the previous year. A veryexciting statistic is there were 1,925 young people who acknowledged a call toministry at our camps in 2019. In the past we have averaged 1300-1500 makingthat acknowledgment. As our districts continue their focus on leadership development, churchtransformation and church multiplication, there were 130 senior pastor transitions,88 church & congregation closures, and 99 new churches and congregationsregistered. This brings us to a total of 1,977 churches and congregations in the U.S.We see continued growth in new models of the gospel being planted in peoplegroups across the country. As an example, I would like to highlight the ministry of our Foursquare Chaplains. In 2019 FCI endorsed 291 chaplains, a 20% growth rate since 2015. These men andwomen serve in one or more missional congregations. They minister on militarybases and are deployed with troops overseas. Chaplains are serving in lawenforcement agencies and visiting the incarcerated. They bring God’s presence tothe aging, the sick and wounded, and the dying. Many are hired by universitiesand businesses across the country. In 2019 Foursquare chaplains served in 331missional locations, a 15% growth over four years, from those 4,956 peopleconfessed their faith in Christ; 1,192 were water baptized, and 397 were baptized inthe Holy Spirit.LETTERfromTA M MYIt has been a joy to serve with the district supervisors and their teams, as well asthe national church office and field teams. In Phoenix we called church plantersforward to pray over them with a picture on the screen of lights placedthroughout the U.S. The vision is just as clear today to plant the gospelthroughout the United States until there is a candle in every communitytransforming them through the multiplication of disciples, leaders, churches, andmovementsWith Gratitude,Tammy DunahooGeneral Supervisor3National Church OfficeFoursquare Cabinet 2020
