With such a long history, so much test dataand many international test standards written aroundit, it remains a very popular choice as a relatively quickcomparative test, to check whether or not test samplescorrode in accordance with expectations. It’s main applicationis therefore to audit the effectiveness of a productionprocess.Based on the Ascott CCT chamber, the Atmosfar is equippedwith additional features to enable it to comply with thespecific automotive test requirements for Ford, Volvo andScania. Most notably this includes the application of salt sprayfrom a high-level ‘swaying’ spray bar, vertical high velocity airdrying, refrigerated dehumidification, and a Psychrometrichumidity measurement system.Cyclic Corrosion Test (CCT) ChambersIn addition to our wide range of corrosion test chambersfor salt spray and cyclic test standards, to accommodatethe increasing demand for testing large components andassemblies, Ascott now offers a range of corrosion test rooms.Cyclic Corrosion Testing is a means of recreating/acceleratinga variety of corrosive climates, within the convenience ofa test chamber. It is a useful test for predicting the lifeexpectancy of materials and components under simulatedservice life conditions. Salt Spray Corrosion Test ChambersAscott salt spray test chambers are offered in two model ranges: Standard & Premium.STANDARDPREMIUMStandard models are designed for continuous salt spray tests,conducted at a single user-adjustable temperature, such asASTM B117, ISO 9227, JIS Z 2371 etc. They may be used with pHneutral salt solutions (NSS) or test solutions acidified by theaddition of Acetic Acid (ASS) or Cupric Acid (CASS).Premium models can perform the same basic salt spray testsas Standard models, but in addition are equipped with extrafeatures which enable them to undertake ‘modified’ testssuch as ASTM G85.Standard 1000 Ltrsalt spray chamberHere conventional salt spray is usually combined with oneother climate, in a two-part cycle.
