Your commitmentshoto the Trust have continued to provide ongoing support foreducation,equipment, and services and there are so many thingsethatth we simply could not do without your investment. In fact,youryo gifts and pledges from 2014 totaled over 450,000. Thisprovidedpro 15,500 for the Oxford College Corner Free Clinic tounderunderwritemedications and women’s services through the HelenWeinbeWeinberger and the General Fund; over 19,000 to support staffeducation and continuing education through the Larry Kist, RichardDaniels, Christopher Daniels Memorial Funds, as well as throughthe Alberta Lutz Ittel, Sheffield Jeck, Garvin McClain, and BizCampbell Funds; in addition to 10,000 to support the ProfessionalDevelopment Assistance Program as well as the core regulatory classesfor Health Stream staff education. Overall, the Trust had over 132,000in expenditures to support our community hospital. Our investedTrust assets, which provide financial stability to McCullough-Hyde,ended 2014 valued at 10.5 million. Approximately 2.5 million ofthese funds are restricted for various purposes, while the remaining isinvested by our Board of Directors to fund future capital, equipment,service and education needs.The year of 2014 also brought the retirement of two individuals whowere critical to the mission of the Trust. Sylvia Moore, who was thefirst official officer of the Trust, retired in October after forty-five yearsof service from her most recent position as assistant to the presidentand CEO. Judy Marcum, who supported the administrative office ofthe Trust for the past nine years, retired in December. We wish bothSylvia and Judy a wonderful retirement as they will be missed greatly.—BRYAN HEHEMANN, Earlier this year, we finalized our affiliation agreement with TriHealth.This will bring positive changes to our community hospital includingPRESIDENT AND CEO, ON a state-of-the-art information technology system, expanded clinicalMCCULLOUGH-HYDE’S services, increased support for community health programs, and aRECENT AFFILIATION capital campaign for a new and expanded Emergency Department andWITH TRIHEALTH.Surgery Suite. All of these efforts will put the patient experience firstand will allow us to continue to deliver the high quality care for whichwe are known. We look forward to these opportunities for growth andyou will be hearing from us soon regarding our campaign, Growingto Meet Your Needs, for the Emergency Department. The Demske Culinary Support Center washost to community members as McCullough-Hydestaff and a panel of TriHealth Heart Health Expertsfacilitated a discussion regarding women’s heart issuesand how to take charge of our health. Topics rangingfrom electrophysiology to vascular surgery werehighlighted and guests were able to ask questionsof the physicians. During the lunch, guests exploredhealth food stations where chefs demonstrated how tocook each dish and discussed the ingredients used andwhere they could be purchased. Manyueemployees, former employees,and friends and family to Sylviaanmade contributions to this fundmand now it is almost completelyanendowed. MCCULLOUGH-HYDE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TRUST 2014 ANNUAL REPORTHealing Art Exhibit:McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital called upon area artists for thefifth time to partner in creating a healing environment for patients andfamilies through the annual “Healing Art” exhibit on April 24th. Artistswithin a 100-mile radius of McCullough-Hyde-Hyde were invitedto submit work for the annual juried art show, whichresulted in the selection of approximatelyy 70original pieces of art that are now displayedyedthroughout the hospital for the next year.r.Local artist and teacher Jean Vanceassisted McCullough-Hyde inmanaging the Healing Art Exhibitand was especially pleased, onceagain, that jurored artwork in theexhibit was eligible for approximately 6,000 in Purchase Awards. Eightpieces of art were purchased for thehospital’s permanent collection via thePurchase Awards. Anyone can purchasethe remaining art, for which prices aredesignated by the artist. MCCULLOUGH-HYDE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TRUST 2014 ANNUAL REPORTSAVE THE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 13THFOR SURVIVOR’S PICNICOn Sunday, September 13th, the Miami University women’s soccer team will hosttheir annual Survivor’s Picnic to raise awareness and celebrate survivors of canceralong with their families, caregivers, and friends. Lunch will begin at 11:30am,with the game kicking off at 12noon at Miami’s Yager Stadium sports complexsoccer field. Members of the community are invited to enjoy the picnic andwatch the team take on Rice University. This event was started by Head CoachBobby Kramig and his wife, Karen Porter-Kramig, in honor of Karen’s latesister, Pam Porter.While a student at Miami University, Pam served as the soccer team’s statistician.When she developed cancer, she received treatment at McCullough-Hyde.In 2010, the Kramigs established the Pamela Porter Oncology Endowmentin memory of Pam. This fund assists with the implementation of servicesand programs to benefit patients, families and staff of the Oncology Clinic atMcCullough-Hyde. “We have always been grateful for the efforts shown Pam bythe McCullough-Hyde staff during her illness.
