The evening included adetailed look at the communication, social skills, sensoryand obsessive behaviours associated with ASC. At everystep we found ourselves trying to unpick the behavioursthat we know many children with Down syndrome candisplay; I know my son Sam loves routine, has had sensoryissues around feeding and having hair and nails cut andcan take things very literally but he doesn’t have ASC!Needless to say we had some fascinating discussions. Our aim is that the group will meet 4 times a year and inSeptember we plan to schedule an evening sessioncovering ideas to help children with a dual diagnosiscommunicate better, with plenty of time for discussion.Luv n Friends Matter 2 Us AllthOn 14 July, 9:30 to 3.30 Luv2meetU will be holding aconference at Kala Sangam, Bradford.
