The testingstarted in March, but there is nothing new to report at this time. She feels a conference call with theCommittee to analyze results could be held in June or July.6.2.2 Logistics Benchmarking SurveyThe Committee consensus was that there is ongoing interest in this subject. At the next meeting thespeaker will be Herbert W. Davis whose company does industry benchmarking surveys. Mr. Hopperencouraged members to check the on-line information about the company and its survey. It may benecessary for the Committee to have a longer meeting at the Fall Meeting in order to develop potentialsurvey questions while the speaker is in attendance. A Revision Task Force to process this and otherrequests will be formed. There is a need for volunteers for the Task Force. The Committee asked thestaff to note as a policy that BSA members of the Task Force must be active members of thisCommittee. The Committee feels that at least three BSA members, representing a small and a largedistributor and a manufacturer should make up the task force. The volunteers are: Doug Savage,Bearing Service, Inc.; Jim Hopper, Applied Industrial Technologies; and Dan Duffy, SKF SealingSolutions. Tony Martell, NSK Corporation is an alternate member. The Task Force will complete itswork prior to the Fall Meeting so that its result can be reported and acted on.A motion was made, seconded and passed to create a policy for membership ofthe Revision Task Force with the following elements: a.) The Committee Chairmanis one member of three, serving a one-year term; b.) both a large and smalldistributor along with a manufacturer should be a member; c.) any Task Forcemember must be an active member of the IT Committee.6.2.4 Future ProgramsThe current list is: RFID – Fall Meeting speakersFinal Minutes for Distribution – Information Technology & Logistics CommitteeBSA 2006 Annual ConventionPage 2 of 3
