GENERAL INFORMATIONFarmingdale State College, State University of New York, is located on 380acres in central Long Island. The College is easily accessible via the LongIsland Expressway, the Northern and Southern State Parkways, and theLong Island Railroad.Established in 1912 to serve a largely agrarian community, the College nowmeets the needs of the region and New York State through its emphasison the applied sciences and high technology. As Long Island's first publiccollege, Farmingdale offers the master of science, bachelor of science,bachelor of technology and a comprehensive base of associate degreeprograms, as well as a wide range of certificate programs, minors, noncredit workshops and seminars.At Farmingdale State College there are approximately 10,000 studentsin attendance. Of the first-time, full-time baccalaureate degree seekingstudents that entered in fall 2013, 56% graduated with a bachelor's degreewithin 150% of the normal completion time and 25% transferred out.Of the first-time, full-time students that entered in fall 2013 seeking acertificate or associate degree, 49% graduated with a certificate, associateor baccalaureate degree within 150% of the normal completion time and31% transferred out.Under the Federal "Student Right-To-Know" Act, statistics are combinedfor certificates, associates and bachelor degrees. Of the total cohort offirst-time full-time, degree seeking students who entered in fall 2013, 52%graduated with a certificate, associates or baccalaureate degree within150% of the normal completion time and 29% transferred out.
