Both types of boiler operate along the same basic principles in thatwater is confined in a restricted space and is heated by burning a fuelsource. The energy of combustion is transferred from the flame to thewater by radiation and conduction, heating the water and ultimatelyraising steam. However, the means of heating the water to the point of‘dry’ steam are markedly different.Water Tube Boilers provide high quality steam, from dry saturated tohigh temperature superheated and, due to the heat exchanger design,have the ability to also provide very high operating pressures. They aresuitable for applications requiring high steam output, high pressuresteam and/or superheated steam.5

Babcock Wanson is able to base its service offering on thissystem and thus move towards predictive maintenance with very highperformance commitments.e-Water / Digital PortalThis water quality monitoring software is essential to avoid boilerbreakdowns. With e-Water (available on any mobile device), operatorsare able to determine if the quality of the water is acceptable. If not,corrective actions are proposed by the application.
