The school is fully equipped to meet all the demands of modern hair designingwhile providing an atmosphere and attitude for progressive personal development. The 7,018 squarefoot facility includes student lounge and lockers, client reception and work areas, management offices,private classrooms, workstations and chairs, a dispensary, tables and chairs to accommodate 100students, backbar sinks, and hood dryers. The school has a library complete with books, audio CDs, andDVDs.We do not have any wheelchair ramps to the building. Although, we are handicap accessible, as ourfront door and our back door are on ground level. We do not have elevators. We do have handicapaccessibility in both the woman and men’s bathrooms. COURSE DESCRIPTION (All courses are taught in English)Cosmetology (1200 Hours): Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) 39-5012Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) Code 12.0401The curriculum involves 1200 hours to satisfy Florida state requirements. The program includes extensiveinstruction and practical experience in cutting, men’s cutting, color, texture, long hair, makeup, skin, nails,customer service, personal appearance and hygiene, personal motivation and development, retail TakeHome skills, guest record-keeping, and business ethics, as well as sanitation, state laws and regulations,salon-type administration, and job interviewing. The program also includes four (4) hours of HIV/AIDSeducation.*Students are prepared to become an entry level cosmetologist.Cosmetology (1300 Hours): (SOC 39.5012.00) (CIP 12.0401)The cosmetology curriculum involves 1300 hours, which exceeds the State of Florida Board ofCosmetology requirements. The program includes extensive instruction and practical experience incutting, men’s cutting, color, texture, long hair, makeup, skin, nails, customer service, personal appearanceand hygiene, personal motivation and development, retail Take Home skills, guest record-keeping, andbusiness ethics, as well as sanitation, state laws and regulations, salon-type administration, and jobinterviewing. The program also includes four (4) hours of HIV/AIDS education.The state of Florida requires 1200 hours of education to become licensed as a cosmetologist; however,the school is approved by the state to offer a 1300-hour cosmetology course. Within the additional 100hours the student will be able to master the skills and techniques of makeup artistry. The additionalcourse hours also include classroom and clinic floor makeup experience.Students are prepared to become entry-level cosmetologists or makeup artist.Barbering: Standard Occupational Classification (SOC 39.5011.00) (Classification of InstructionalPrograms CIP 12.0402)The curriculum involves 900 hours to satisfy State of Florida Barbers’ Board requirements. The programincludes extensive instruction and practical experience in men’s cutting, color, texture, men’s grooming,customer service, personal appearance and hygiene, personal motivation and development, retail TakeHome skills, guest record-keeping, and business ethics, as well as sanitation, state laws and regulations,salon-type administration, and job interviewing.
