DART-Provided BenefitsVoluntary BenefitsBasic Life and Accidental Death andDismemberment (AD&D) InsuranceSupplemental Life and AD&D InsuranceDART provides you with basic life insuranceand basic accidental death & dismembermentat one (1) times your base annual salary or aminimum of 50,000 coverage, whichever isgreater, at no cost to you.Paid Time Off (PTO)DART offers additional life and AD&Dinsurance you may purchase. The benefit isin multiples of your salary up to 5 times or 500,000. Evidence of insurability is requiredfor supplemental life insurance over 3 timesyour salary or 400,000. You may also purchaseadditional insurance for your dependents.Full-time employees accrue PTO beginningwith your first paycheck. You may take PTOafter completion of 6 months of employment.As an hourly full-time new hire employee, youcan accrue up to 80 hours of PTO within thefirst year of employment. Salaried full-timeemployees you can accrue up to 136 hoursof PTO within the first year of its include a First-Occurrence Benefit aswell as Hospital Confinement and ContinuingCare Benefits for a serious health event such asheart attack, stroke, or sudden cardiac arrest.Through this coverage, DART provides youwith income continuation in the event you areunable to work due to your own personal illnessor injury. Short-Term Disability benefits are paidat 66 2/3% of your base bi-weekly pay.Benefits begin after you have been disabled14 consecutive days and have used 80% ofany accumulated sick leave balance for hourlyemployees or 50% of Paid Time Off (PTO)balance for salaried employees. Benefits endwhen you are no longer disabled or when theshort-term disability period ends (180 daysmaximum), or when you are transitioned toLong-Term Disability Benefits This can also besupplemented with your PTO. If your disabilityextends past 180 days, Long-Term Disabilitybenefits are paid at 60% of your bi-weekly pay.Employee Assistance Program (EAP)DART provides every employee and theirfamily members a free, confidential counselingand referral service that can help you deal withlife’s challenges.Benefits include Initial Diagnosis Benefit,Wellness Benefit, Radiation and ChemotherapyBenefit, Surgical/ Anesthesia Benefit, plus muchmore. Financial BenefitsDART Capital Accumulation Plan—401(k)DART’s 401(k) plan is an easy way for youto automatically set aside money for yourretirement. You can contribute from 2% to 50%of your pay and DART will contribute .50 cents to your account for every dollaryou contribute to the plan (up to 6% of pay).Matching contributions begin after youcomplete 180 days of continuousfull-time employment, and you become fullyvested after 5 years of service.DART’s 457(b)Deferred Compensation PlanDART Retirement Plan—Money Purchase PlanEmployees with more than 180 days ofcontinuous full-time, regular employment areeligible to benefit from DART Retirement plan,a money purchased plan. DART contributes7.7% of your eligible pay into a separateinvestment account administered by Vanguard.Educational AssistanceAfter six months of employment, all full-timeemployees are eligible for reimbursement ofqualified expenses related to pursuit of a degree.DART reimburses up to 2,500 for full-timeemployees per fiscal year.This Plan is sponsored by ICMA-RC whichoffers employees another way to save and investfor retirement with pre-tax salary deductions.Key features include of the 457(b)Deferred Compensation Plan: Employees can contribute up to theIRS maximum limit each year betweenthe two plans. There is a 10% penalty for withdrawals madefrom your 401(k) account prior to age 59 ½,but no such penalties for early withdrawalsfrom your 457(b) account.
