IntroductionThis guide is designed to provide a comprehensive list of special tests and calibrations (i.e., programmable parameters)available for each application in the library of heavy-duty software applications. The information contained herein isaccurate at the time of publication to the best of our ability; however, it is impossible to predetermine each vehicle system. The heavy duty trucking industry, unlike the automotive industry, manufactures each vehicle to support an individualcustomer’s needs and operating conditions. Therefore, it is impossible to determine the various components that make up aparticular vehicle model. Typically, no two heavy duty vehicles are built with the same components. For example, a Peterbilt chassis might have a Cummins engine, an Allison transmission, and either Bendix or WABCO brakes. Some applications may not support all special tests and parameters when compared to OEM manufacturer applications; thisis due to OEM mandated restrictions. In addition, parameter and test support may vary based on the software version of theECUs on the vehicle.ImportantIt is highly recommended that you connect the scan tool to your customer’s vehicle, using your demo/loaner unit, toprecisely identify the systems with which the vehicle is equipped. This will help to establish customer understanding ofcoverage and ensure satisfaction in the future. 2016-2020 Snap-on Incorporated. All rights reserved. How to Use this GuideThe Heavy Duty Software Application Guide is divided into the following sections: Section 1: Engine ApplicationsSection 2: Transmission ApplicationsSection 3: Brake ApplicationsSection 4: Body and Chassis ApplicationsSection 5: Generic ApplicationsSection 6: Light and Medium Truck ApplicationsNavigationTo navigate through the document, use the bookmarks on the left side of the display. A plus sign ( ) next to a bookmarkindicates that the bookmark can be expanded to display additional links. Click on the plus sign ( ) to expand the bookmarkand see more. Likewise, you can click on a minus sign (-) to collapse the bookmark and see less. Each section has an overview page with linksto the various applications in that section. To go back to the overviewpage, use the Alt Key and the Back Arrow on your keyboard. Each application has a summary page with information about the application, including the Snap-on part number, modelyears covered, and basic features. The application summary page is followed by tables listing two types of information forthat application: Special Tests SupportedCalibrations (i.e., Programmable Parameters) SupportedPlease refer these tables for a complete run-down of available diagnostic coverage.Heavy Duty Software Application GuideiiiPreface
