Arrival and registrationRegistrationGetting to another campusRegistration for this event will be held in theNewton Gallery within the Newton building onour City Campus. You can find the NewtonGallery by turning left once you have entered themain entrance of the Newton building onGoldsmith Street.If you are interested in another course at ourClifton Campus, then hop on our Go2Uni 4 bus,which runs throughout the day. Theapproximate journey time to Clifton Campus is30 minutes. If you would like to travel to ourBrackenhurst Campus, please talk to a memberof staff on the helpdesk.Registration is open from 4 pm, where courseacademics will be available to discuss youroptions and career opportunities. Frequently asked questionsQ – When should I apply?A – This depends on the start date of yourcourse, but the earlier you apply, thebetter. For example, if you are thinkingof starting in September, then try toapply by June or July at the latest. Aimto start the process around six monthsbefore the start date of your course, butkeep in mind that places forpostgraduate study are competitiveand you will have other arrangementsto sort out such as funding andaccommodation. If you are anInternational student, allow even longerto apply for funding from your homecountry first, as you will need to provideproof of finance when applying to NTU.Q – Once I apply, when will I hearfrom you?A – After signing up to our Applicant Portal,we will contact you to confirm thesubmission of your application. If werequire further information or examplesof your work, we will contact you byemail. If your application is accepted,we will invite you for an interview, soplease keep an eye out for NTU in yourinbox.Q – I do not have the best gradesfrom my undergraduatedegree. What can I do to helpmy chances of getting a placeon a postgraduate course?A – First of all, don’t panic! Take your timeto find a course that suits your skills andwhat you want to do. We offer a rangeof courses, all with different entryrequirements, so check these carefullyand assess the possibilities of meetingthem. Finally, a personal statement canmake a world of difference to yourapplication. Spend the time to makeyours stand out and show you in thebest possible light.Q – What funding opportunitiesare available to me?A – A postgraduate loan of up to 10,609from Student Finance England is one ofthe more popular options for Mastersstudents, as you are only required torepay on earnings over 21,000.Eligible applicants must be a UK or EUnational under the age of 60 andnormally live in England. Visitwww.gov.uk/postgraduate-loan toread the full terms and conditions.NTU offers postgraduate scholarshipsworth up to half the value of yourtuition fees in the form of a feereduction. These are competitivelyawarded to students who excel in theirstudies. However, only those who havebeen offered a place to study on aMasters course starting in September orJanuary are eligible to apply. Q – Are there any benefits tocontinuing from anundergraduate to apostgraduate course at NTU?A – Yes there are. Students currentlyfinishing an undergraduate degree atNTU and even alumni who havegraduated since July 2013 receive a25% discount from postgraduatetaught, postgraduate research orprofessional course fees. We have a range ofaccommodation options suited topostgraduate and research students. Infact, some of our halls of residencehave flats that only cater forpostgraduate or mature students.
