Accreditation Evaluation TeamCalifornia community colleges undergo an accreditation review generally every six years. TheAccrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) will conduct anaccreditation review of Porterville College in 2018. A review team will visit Porterville College onOctober 1, 2018 through October, 4, 2018.MEMBER INFORMATIONAs a Vietnam-era Army veteran, Knudson’s 36 years ofmanagement experience includes four years as a noncommissioned officer in the Army, 10 years in thehospitality industry and 22 years in higher education. Hisclassroom experience dates back to 1989 when he beganteaching in the College of Business at Oregon StateUniversity. He has since served on faculty at the Universityof Georgia, Western Oregon University, and communitycolleges. Heassumed the position of Superintendent/President atAntelope Valley College in 2013.He has served on several site visit teams and worked withaccreditation in both the Northwest Association andACCJC.After having a long career in private industry as anAdministrative Professional, Patty transitioned intoeducation in 2001. Greg Aycock has worked in community colleges for over 28years and has been in institutional research for the past 14years. At present, Greg is the Dean of InstitutionalEffectiveness at Norco College and oversees institutionalresearch, assessment of SLOs, and strategic planning. Inaddition, he is heavily involved in accreditation at NorcoCollege as they prepare for their own visit in Spring2020. On a personal note, Greg has lived in Riverside mostof his life and presently resides there with his wife and threechildren.Standard I LeadDr. Eva Bagg is currently Superintendent/President ofBarstow Community College (BCC). She began her careerin the California Community College system over 30 yearsago as a research intern and adjunct instructor atSouthwestern College in Chula Vista. She then joined BCCas the director of institutional research and later as full-timeinstructor of anthropology. For over 10 years she served asDean of Institutional Effectiveness and Student Success atLong Beach City College. She was the accreditation liaisonofficer for eleven years at two institutions and has servedon four accreditation evaluation teams. Eva holds abachelor’s degree in anthropology from Pomona Collegeand became a Fulbright scholar while earning her doctoratein anthropology from the University of California, SanDiego. Prior to her work in community colleges, Eva workedas research scientist at the Institute for Research onLearning in Palo Alto, California and later as a workplaceanthropologist at Pitney Bowes in Connecticut.Standard IV LeadDr. Rebecca Bocchicchio currently serves as VicePresident of Instruction at Sierra College, where shestarted in 1997 as a part-time member of the Englishfaculty. Prior to moving into the VPI position last year, shespent two years as Executive Dean of Student Success,focusing on the implementation of guided pathways, andfive years as Dean of Liberal Arts, overseeing programs inthe fine and applied arts, social and behavioral sciences,and languages and humanities. Stephen Fredricks' holds an A.S. from the College of SanMateo in Mathematics, a B.A. from UC San Diego inMathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science, andan M.A. from San Francisco State University inMathematics with an emphasis in Statistical Analysis. Hehas been teaching Mathematics at the college level since1999. Stephen has been the Director of the Mathematics,Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) Program atSkyline College, in San Bruno, CA, since 2008.Standard IDr. Meeta Goel has over 30 years of education-relatedexperience, including such roles as Vice President ofInstitutional Effectiveness at Colorado Mountain College forover eight years, where she led the college’s institutionaleffectiveness, strategic planning, institutional research,accreditation, marketing, and grants functions; Senior Officerfor Institutional Effectiveness at Mountain State University(Beckley, West Virginia); and Executive Director of InstitutionalEffectiveness at Richland Community College (Decatur,Illinois). During the past five years, she has served as AntelopeValley College’s Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Research,Planning and Library Services, and is currently also an Adjunctfor Research Methods at CSU-Bakersfield. Meeta has adoctorate in psychology with a minor in statistics,neuropsychology, counseling and special education fromTexas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. She holds amaster’s degree in educational psychology from McGillUniversity (Montreal, Quebec) and a bachelor’s degrees inpsychology, as well as education, from Queen’s University(Kingston, Ontario). and the institutional strategies necessaryfor online programs to succeed.Team AssistantDr. Sunny Greene is the Disabled Student Programs andServices (DSPS) Director/Counselor & LearningDisabilities Specialist for College of the Siskiyous. I haveheld these positions since 2010. Prior to this, I was anacademic counselor and guidance instructor for College ofthe Siskiyous since 2000. Within these 18 years, I have hadthe fortune to do a wide variety of tasks and duties. Iorganized and implemented New Student Orientations(and created an orientation class), hire and train StudentOrientation Leaders, supervise the ASB (also developedand taught Student Leadership class) and serve as theCTE counselor. Currently, I am one of the Co-Leads forGuided Pathways on our campus, working closely with theDean of Instruction. I also continue to counsel generalstudents and am the college’s articulation officer. She is currently theFaculty Accreditation Coordinator.She teachesBiopsychology, Critical Thinking, Drugs and Behavior andPsychology of Gender. She is actively involved with theCerritos Associated Students, speaking at the ASCCLeadership Conference 2012 and 2017. It has been anhonor and a privilege for her to work with the truly inspiringleaders of student government. Her passions includereducing stigma about Mental Health issues, issues ofgender and raising awareness about addiction relatedbehaviors. She was instrumental in organizing the Fall2011 Mental Health Panel with Ozomatli andRepresentative Grace Napolitano and the Anti-GayBullying Symposium Fall 2012.The panel raisedawareness about college age issues and reached out toabout 150 students, each. She is currently very involved inthe Cerritos College OER (Open Educational Resources)Initiative, designed to raise awareness about OER, as wellas the Online Initiative, to increase the number of coursesand sections of online learning that is offered at CerritosCollege.Kim Lopez currently serves as the Vice President ofStudent Services at the College of San Mateo (CSM). Priorto CSM, Kim served as the Vice President of StudentServices and Dean of Counseling and Enrollment Servicesat Cañada College. Prior to Cañada, Kim was a facultymember at the College of the Siskiyous (COS), serving asthe Director for EOPS, CARE, CalWORKs and TRIO, andas a Counselor. Kim also served as President of theAcademic Senate at COS. In addition, Kim has served asthe Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at UC San Diego, andas the Director of the Ronald E. McNair Program at CalPoly San Luis Obispo. She has worked abroad at theCollege of Micronesia where she established and directedthe college’s first Upward Bound program. Kim also taughtEnglish as a Second Language in Taipei, Taiwan. Jonah Nicholas began his career in community collegeleadership in 2005. Since 2011, Jonah has worked forContra Costa Community College District (4CD), first as theDirector of District Finance Services and later as theAssociate Vice Chancellor/Chief Financial Officer, hiscurrent position. Prior to working at 4CD, Jonah worked forfive years at Wenatchee Valley College in the state ofWashington as the Director of Finance. He holds aBachelor of Science in Business Administration andEconomics from Central Washington University as well asan MBA from Washington State University.Standard III LeadDr. Ann Wright has taught biology at Hartnell College since1998, full-time since 2001. Before she started teaching, sheworked for over ten years conducting research inimmunology at Stanford and UCLA, studying the structureand function of antibodies. Gohar MomjianVice PresidentGohar Momjian joined the ACCJC staff in September2017. Accreditation is the cornerstone of her 20 years’experience in higher education. As Associate ViceChancellor of Institutional Development, and AccreditationLiaison Officer (ALO) for City College of San Franciscofrom July 2012 until June 2015, she helped to lead theCollege’s improvement processes. Most recently, sheserved as Interim Director of Operations at CañadaCollege. Prior to that, Momjian gained in-depth knowledgeworking with the WASC Senior College and UniversityCommission as the ALO for the American University ofArmenia.
