Definitions (ContdlDIIDCall Trace: Allows a called part to initiate an automatic trace of the last call received and is availablefor Local Line customers. After receiving an offending call, the customer must hang up and dial thefeature code *57 (1157 for rotary phones) prior to receiving another inbound calL. After dialing thefeature code, the customer receives a recording that indicates that the trace was successful, and thatthe originating number has been captured and forwarded to the Company. The recording wil alsoprovide the customer a toll free number to the Company's Annoyance Call Bureau (ACB) Center forthe customer to call for further action or to speak to an ACB representative. An. ACB representativeadvises the customer that the telephone numbers of calls identified as harassing shall be released onlyto authorized investigative or law enforcement offcers. This information wil not be given directly to thecustomer. Customers wil be instructed to file a complaint with the appropriate law enforcement officials.Information on originating telephone number identified as harassing are released verbally to lawenforcement with proof of identification. A subpoena is required before written records may be releasedto law enforcement. The Company is not liable for damages if, for any reason, the call trace attempt isnot successfuL. Unless otherwise specified herein , for the purpose of computingcharges in this Tariff , a month is considered to have 30 days. Acceptance for filing by the Commission recognizes that it is a court'responsibility to adjudicate negligence and consequential damage claims.
