She also holds a Master’sDegree in Industrial and OrganizationalPsychology from the same institution.During her graduate studies, she workedfor a business consulting firm focusingon training & development and talentmanagement. Dean, Dr. Maxwell, Announces New AppointmentsChair of Undergraduate Programs: Dr. Tanya NoahDr. Tanya Noah has been named the Chair of Undergraduate Programs and Assistant Professor ofFinance in the School of Business at Lincoln Memorial University; she holds a Ph.D. in Managementwith a concentration in Finance from Walden University. Dr. Noah’s commitment to LMU started asa student where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in mathematics. After acquiring her master’s inMathematics with an option in Statistics, she taught math and statistics at LMU for 12 years. She thenmoved to the School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Finance upon completing her Ph.D. As anative Appalachian, she desires to contribute to the Appalachian region, which aligns with the missionof LMU. She strives to guide and encourage students to be lifelong learners.MBA Program Director & Chair of Graduate Programs: Dr. Kelsey MetzDr. Kelsey Metz has been named Chair of Graduate of Programs in the School of Business at Lincoln Memorial University. She also serves a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program Director and Assistant Professor of Business. Dr. Metz holds a Ph.D. in Business with a concentrationin Marketing from University of the Cumberlands. She has also earned an MBA from Carson-Newman University and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketingfrom Lincoln Memorial University. Dr. Metz is passionate about the mission of LMU, and strives topromote quality business programs that aid in the improvement and economic strengthening ofthe Appalachian region.DBA Program Director: Dr. Edmond LyongaDr. Edmond Lyonga has been named the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Program Director and Associate Professor of Business. He previously held the position of Assistant Professor ofFinance with LMU. He has been with the LMU family for two years. He has a Ph.D. in Managementwith a concentration in Finance from Walden University, an MS in Strategic Leadership and BSin Accounting from Mountain State University, and a BSC in Accountancy from the University ofBuea, Cameroon. His expertise stretches across Finance, Business, Management, Leadership, andAccounting. He is passionate about teaching and learning with the burning desire to help ourstudents overcome future challenges in the world of business.LMU:School of Business Hosts Executive Advisory Board MeetingThe Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) School of Business Executive Business Advisory Board met July 23, 2021 at the LMU maincampus. DIGGING INTODUAL DEGREESCREDIT HOUR CHANGESFOR UNDERGRADBUSINESS DEGREESThe dual degree MBA program is a 30 or 36 hourprogram intended for individuals who are in the processof earning the one of the following degrees at LincolnMemorial University: Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD)The objective of the program is to stress the student’srole as manager and leader, while providing afoundational knowledge in business to complement thecorresponding professional degree. Key courses for theMBA dual degrees include: Social & Ethical Environment of Business Economics for Decision Making Contemporary Management & Leadership Business StrategyUpon graudation, students in the dual degreeprogram will have completed both a Master’s ofBusiness Administration degree along with one of theprofessional degrees listed above.The LMU: School of Business received approval fortheir proposal of reducing the number of credithours required for achieving a Bachelor of Artsdegree and a Bachelor’s of Business Administrationdegree. The change, taking effect starting in theacademic year 2021-2022, moves the credit hourtotal from 128 to 122. This reduction of requiredcredit hours increases the school’s competitivenesswhen compared to similar institutions and programs. Also, the change gives students the chanceto average more than 15 credit hours per semesterthroughout their time at the LMU: School of Business.Anyone interested in the MBA dual degree programsshould contact the graduate recruiter, April Anderson,at april.anderson@lmunet.edu.BBA: ACCOUNTING CURRICULUM CHANGESThe LMU: School of Business received approval fortheir proposal of revise the core courses for the accounting concentration. This resulted in the programaligning with current industry expectations and focusing on relevant accounting standards. The changes also reduce material overlap while streamliningthe program in order to eliminatethe extended time students neededto complete their degree. Along withthe BBA core curriculum (36 credithours), accounting students will complete 24 credit hours of accountingcourses. These include: Intermediate Accounting I Intermediate Accounting 2 Federal Income Taxation Government & Not-for-ProfitAccounting Accounting Information Systems AuditingThe revised accounting curriculum provides a morecomprehensive foundation in accounting concepts,principles, and ethics in keeping with the concentration’s mission statement.4

Back to School Fun DuringWelcome Weekend!Upon returning to campus, students enjoyed aweekend full of welcome back activities. Eventsincluded the LMU Matriculation Ceremony,Trivia Night, community service events, a Club &Organizations Carnival, hikes in the CumberlandGap National Park, a silent disco dancy party, andmore!The LMU: School of Business took part in the MajorMeetup Event during Welcome Weekend. New,incoming students had the opportunity to meetfellow majors, faculty members, and participate in aShark Tank style entrepreneurship game.
